Itinerary
- Lisbon, Portugal... spend two nights in a 4-star hotel steps from Oriente station.
- Portimao, Portugal... sail past sandstone cliffs through the river mouth to dock at your first port. Sit out in a sunny café and enjoy local specialities like fresh sardines.
- Cadiz, Spain... dock right by the centre of town to enjoy the beautiful beach. Many people book excursions to Seville for an extra fee—it's around 1.5 hours away.
- Motril, Spain... this is a port city backed by the Sierra Nevada mountains. The city of Granada and the Alhambra Palace are only around an hour away on the bus. You could do it yourself for around £20, or book an excursion.
- Gibraltar, Spain... the Rock of Gibraltar is an impressive sight. You can take a cable car up to the top to see the famous Barbary macaques. They're the only wild apes in Europe.
- Ibiza, Spain... visit Dalt Vila, the old town, for pretty cobbled courtyards, galleries, and cafes. Sa Marina is another lively area packed with open-air bars and restaurants.
- Palma, Mallorca... this island capital is crowned by a golden cathedral. Visit the royal palace and the ancient Moorish baths, or just potter round and enjoy a lazy lunch.
- Barcelona... disembark and transfer to the airport for your flight back to the UK.
On select dates, this itinerary may operate in reverse.
Ship details
Norwegian Dawn is one of Norwegian Cruise Line's smaller ships. That said, it still carries 2340 passengers at full capacity—and there's a huge amount to see and do.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included. You can order room service breakfast without paying extra. At dinner, plenty of restaurants are included in the cruise fare, including an Chinese restaurant and O'Sheehans pub. Speciality options including Mexican, Teppanyaki, and French cuisine.
There are musical extravaganzas each night in the theatre. It's also especially "happening" at night, says Cruise Critic. There's live music and dancing at venues all around the ship, as well as karaoke, improv, late-night game shows, and deck parties. Standout bars include the Gatsby-style cigar bar, boutique Japanese sake bar, and intimate, cellar-style wine bar.
