Itinerary
First, you'll have three nights in Tokyo. The time is yours to explore at your own pace. Two days is plenty of time to see iconic sights like the Shibuya Scramble Crossing and Senso-ji Temple. Next, board Celebrity Millennium and call at:
- Osaka... is Japan's second-largest city after Tokyo. You'll stay overnight so there's time to visit nearby Kyoto independently. The Imperial capital is just a 30-minute train ride from central Osaka.
- Kochi... visit the temple and the botanical garden. You can discover the history of samurai at the Sakamoto Ryoma Memorial Museum. Be sure to sample some seared bonito, too—this is Kochi's speciality.
- Busan... this South Korean city is known for its beaches and mountain hiking trails. Busan Tower, in Yongdusan Park, offers panoramic views of the city's harbour (admission fee applies).
- Nagasaki... is a beautiful seaside city with stunning bay views, and much to offer outside of its tragic history. The city boasts a rich Chinese and European heritage. It's also home to Japan's oldest Chinatown.
- Kagoshima... this is the southernmost city on the bullet-train network. Its smouldering volcano often draws comparisons to Naples. Discover beautiful inns and hot springs (onsen).
- Shimizu... admire Mount Fuji as you sail towards the port—there are great views, depending on clear weather. The mountain is around 90 minutes from the port.
Say goodbye to the ship in Tokyo and transfer to the airport to fly back to the UK.
