Itinerary
First, you'll spend two nights at a central hotel in Barcelona, so you can get to know the city at your own pace. Explore iconic sights like Las Ramblas and the Sagrada Família, then board Azamara Quest for your 9-night cruise.

Azamara is famous for its focus on destinations, and you'll spend at least 10 hours in every port—far more than you would with many other cruise lines. The ship is also small enough to get off the beaten path and call at quieter ports. Highlights include:

• Palamos... the cruise terminal is a short stroll from the downtown of this pretty beach resort. From here, you can explore the Salvador Dalí museum in Figueres, or just relax at a seafood restaurant—Palamos prawns are legendary.
• Port Vendres... is a convenient starting point for sightseeing in southwestern France. A tourist train runs to the ancient city of Collioure in 20 minutes, or you could travel to Perpignan, a city that inspired Matisse and Picasso.

• St Tropez... follow in the footsteps of Brigitte Bardot in this glitzy port on the French Riviera. Spot the superyachts bobbing around the harbour or people-watch on the main square.
• Nice (overnight in port)... a full day and night in port means you can soak up the glamour after sunset, too. Enjoy the views from Castle Hill and get lost in the pastel piazzas of the Old Town. 
• Ajaccio... sail across to Corsica for a taste of island life. You'll dock right by the Old Town and beach, and you can learn all about the island's most famous resident at the Maison Napoleon.

Finally, you'll dock in Civitavecchia and transfer to Rome for your flight home.
