Cottage Lodge is a 17th-century property with a rustic feel. It has low ceilings, wooden beams, and furniture made from locally sourced sustainable wood. The owners source as many products, from baked goods to toiletries, as possible from producers within the New Forest. The hotel's electricity needs are partially met by the property's own solar panels.
The property is in the pretty village of Brockenhurst in the New Forest National Park. There are plenty of walking trails nearby to follow. You'll soon spot the famous free-roaming ponies.
For two-wheeled exploration, the bike-hire centre at Brockenhurst railway station is open year-round.
The centre of Brockenhurst is less than five minutes' walk away. It has a selection of cafés, tea rooms, and pubs to choose from.
Lymington, a famed yachting centre, is less than 15 minutes' drive from the hotel. You could also take the train there from Brockenhurst station.
Beaulieu and its Motor Museum are less than 20 minutes' drive away. You can follow the nearby riverside trail to Buckler's Hard. This historic Georgian shipbuilding village is set right on the river.
