The Sir Christopher Wren is a riverside hotel close to Windsor Castle. It's an "enviable location", says The Daily Telegraph, with "beautiful views of the Thames and the spires of Eton College".
Named after the famous architect of St Paul's Cathedral, who grew up in Windsor, the property consists of a Georgian main building and the contemporary Windsor Wing.
Windsor Castle is around five minutes' walk from the hotel. The world's oldest and largest occupied castle, it houses some of the most prestigious works of art from the Royal Collection and is open Thursday to Monday for tours.
Hotel facilities include a brasserie with river views and serves a menu of modern European cuisine, a riverside terrace and Wren's Club (just across the courtyard from the main house), which has a well-equipped gym, sauna and relaxation area.
Rooms are split between the main house and an annexe building on a cobbled street near Eton Bridge.

Great location and staff were helpful regarding parking. I would request a room to not be at the front of the building; due to people traffic/noise.,,,,not the best nights sleep but good coffee was available in the morning, I was impressed with the food portions for the evening meal and very tasty.

Could in no way fault this hotel; it had a very "homey" feel but with added luxury. All of the staff without exception were happy, helpful and pleasant, the room was extremely comfortable and the hotel's situation in the town couldn't have been better, especially with the added bonus of car parking as my husband is a blue badge holder.

We stayed for 2 nights on a Travelzoo deal. Our room was on the 3rd floor, there were lots of stairs and no lift, but the room was large, with a comfortable bed and a good sized bathroom. There were nice toiletries provided and complimentary towelling robes, a tea and coffee tray and a TV. We had a partial view of Windsor Castle, which we visited during our stay. The breakfast was excellent, with lots of choice. Dinner menu was a bit limited and pricey. Staff were very nice and always offered us a table next to the window, overlooking the river. We didn't use the spa, as the jacuzzi was out of action. We would book this hotel again if visiting Windsor in the future, but probably on a bed and breakfast basis

Wedding party were disruptive 3-5am so it was not a comfortable stay with excessive noise.
Dinner - this was overpriced and options were missing e.g. mashed potato at 7.30. Even with a travelzoo offer the food in the hotel wasn’t worth the cost.

The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were excellent. The staff were very helpful and friendly. They allowed us to leave our luggage until late afternoon on checkout day. We had breakfast and an evening meal. We couldn’t fault our meal choices. Everyone enjoyed the stay and will highly recommend to others.

Great hotel and great location right on the Thames
But note....the very last road (cobbled street/walkway) where the hotel is situated may not pick up on satnav
You can’t park here only unload
Their car park is a private section in the railway car park a five min walk away
Only a few spaces so make sure you book space in advance of your visit...see the hotels website for details

The positive points: were that it was a nice quality hotel, and the staff were professional and helpful. The hotel was situated on the river, within walking distance to the Castle and the centre of the town. The negative points: given the quality of the hotel was the restaurant. The menu was basic and more like pub food. In terms of quality of food, I ordered mushy peas with my fish dish and was served pea soup in a pot (which was on the menu as a starter). The apple crumble was also poor. During the meals, the TV was on all the time, certainly no ambience. The acoustics in the restaurant meant that it felt and sounded like being in a canteen. The buffet breakfast was good. Finally, on checking out the receptionist did not ask us how our stay had been, which was a surprise as this is normally part of the service at other hotels.

The hotel comprises several buildings on the Windsor side of the River Thames so we were not surprised to be told that we were actually staying at Windsor House, a building opposite to the actual main hotel. The receptionist arranged for a porter to take our luggage and show us the room which made the whole process easier. The offsite parking was around 250 metres away and due to it raining for most of our stay meant we got wet every time we needed the car. This was also the case when having meals in their Brasserie as we had to put on coats and take an umbrella each time we ate there. The best bits of our stay were the two breakfasts, which were all you can eat buffets, plus we got to sit in window seats overlooking the River Thames for both breakfasts. Not so good bits were the noisy pipes within Windsor House which meant we were woken up by the noise of the guests in the room above us when they showered on both mornings and the wet and windy walks to the main hotel. However, the staff were all very friendly and helpful which meant we felt very welcome. The TravelZoo deal included a daily £40 allowance against meals eaten in their Brasserie other than the inclusive breakfasts. But, they included 12.5% service charges within this £40 allowance so despite making careful calculations when ordering we ended up paying extra both times. This, perhaps, needs to be made clearer.

We were very impressed with the staff, notably Brandon our waiter at dinner. The position of the hotel on the banks of the Thames and in the centre of Windsor is ideal and the rooms are well-appoibted and comfortable. There is a big "but", however. We upgraded to a Feature room which was modern and spotlessly clean and had everything you expect in a five star hotel. However I was very disappointed to find the room overlooked the railway station. I was hoping for a glimpse of the river or castle. I had also informed the hotel we were celebrating an anniversary and we were returning guests. In other hotels we have been left a small box of chocolates or a small bottle of wine. Not at Sir Christopher Wren just a card welcoming us back left in our room.

I did not like the way in which we were expected to check in and out online. We only had contact with reception to pick up the key. When we passed though reception the staff never even acknowledged us by smiling or saying hello. I don’t like paying on my phone but that’s how I had to pay for our additional expenses. There was no concierge to help with luggage. As an elderly couple we were expected to take our cases across the road into the adjacent building. The waiting and bar staff were the only members of staff we spoke to. They evening team were very professional and pleasant. The breakfast team did a good job but didn’t interact with us.

The common areas of the hotel are very tired and could do with a refresh. Our room was small and overlooked the car park. My daughter is prone to allergies and couldn't stop coughing and sneezing when in the room which would suggest dust mites.
Other Comments
I was unable to sleep because of a whirring noise. I thought at first that it was the xpelair in the bathroom but that did not even work when the light was on. It sounded like the whirring was coming from the car park wall side of our room - like a noisy vent. I didn't notice it until we were trying to sleep and then it was very noisy. I didn't complain at the time because I was with my 18-year old daughter who would have been mortified if I had made a fuss but, left to my own devices, I would have strongly complained because the noise ruined my sleep and affected me the following day.
