Overall very satisfied with my stay. Disappointed with service in bar restaurant. "Rocked to sleep" by trains passing under the hotel building.

Need for staff training. Waiting staff need training to be aware of customers, and not be "inattentive to customers". Bar staff need training in serving "pints of Guinness ".

Great location. Very clean rooms. Quiet. No noise from road. Comfy bed. Breakfast was excellent. Communal areas are dated but didn’t detract from our stay. Felt nostalgic. Would recommend and would definitely go back.

Hotel outside looks a bit drab and uninviting but inside is lovely, marble, glass and impressive. Room was compact but had everything plus more in it. We had a fridge, dressing gowns, slippers and all the usual bathroom toiletries. Bed was comfy and two different types of pillows which pleased us as we like thin pillows. Big selection at buffet break fast including a few items they will make for you, porridge, omelettes, avocado on toast. Totally recommend this hotel.
Other Comments
Staff were helpful as our room cards didn’t work when checked in so had to return to reception then reprogrammed and a member of staff went to our room then to make sure we could get in this time.

The good bits: Location, next to Regents Park & Lords cricket ground. Newly refurbished rooms and very comfy bed. Very good breakfast selection & staff at breakfast were very welcoming & efficient. The not so good: On arrival (quite late in the evening) reception had our booking down for the previous day with the correct name but someone elses address and contact details (blame was placed on the system). We were then allocated a room that was already occupied causing alarm to us and the occupant who was in bed ! The receptionist apologised and allocated another room to us. On checking out the following morning, we were treated with indifference by another receptionist (not so much as a 'good morning' or 'did you enjoy your stay'). In complete contrast, the concierge was an absolute delight when we were sent to him to arrange to leave our bag while we explored Regents Park.
Other Comments
Despite the good room, location & breakfast, we would be reluctant to stay again due to the mix up with our booking and service at reception.
