Overall the hotel is great, room lovely and comfortable, breakfast good and most staff have been lovely.

Had an issue with the room not having been cleaned by the time we returned at 3.45pm, asked at reception and they said they would request it to be done immediately. Nearly an hour later we went back only to find the cleaning person in our room sat on the chair scrolling on her phone (at which point realising she had been caught she swore and dropped it). Upon checkout we mentioned the issue only to find the original member of staff never noted it on the system. Did receive an email shortly after leaving apologising for a "small hiccup". I've never experienced such unprofessional behaviour in a hotel, staff shouldn't be taking their break in guest rooms. Extremely surprised they think this is a small hiccup.

The breakfast selection was excellent and the concierge and reception barman wete super helpful, fun and polite.

This was our ruby wedding weekend and the hotel cost £179 per night and we stayed for 2 nights. I received a call on Friday morning before our check in late afternoon that day to try and sell me an £80 Anniversary package ! I felt that this was trying to take a profit out of our special occasion. We were given two drinks vouchers on check in but when we tried to use them in the rooftop bar we were refused even a seat unless we were eating or buying a drink off the menu. There was no flexibility even when we explained that it was our wedding anniversary so we decided to leave. As we did so 'Esther' sarcastically said 'Happy Anniversary darling'. I was fuming andcreturned to get her name and told her I did not appreciate her sarcasm and walked out. Everything had a price tag...it was more about profiteering than a value for money pleasant experience. We had booked a Premium room but it was nothing to shout about for the money.

The staff were all so very considerate and helpful to an elderly couple, one who is registered Blind and the other who has to use a Rollater to walk. The room was very clean, everything worked and it is nice to have a machine that makes proper coffee. What we also liked was that the room had a carafe for water, with a water station to enable it to be refilled on every floor.

Our only minor problem was that twice when we used Black Cabs, the drivers said they had never heard of the Canopy by Hilton, so we had to go into complicated descriptions of where we wanted to be taken to.
