Our two night stay was very comfortable, breakfast was adequate. The staff are wonderful, eager to help and offered lots of advice on car parking and the many local restaurants. We will definitely stay there again . Special thanks to Holly and Jules on receptioni.

We were not allowed to change our booked dates and therefore had to cancel our stay - and had no help at all to garner more information or look at alternatives. One telephone call went unanswered by Leonardo. Shocking service. Disappointing level of help from Travelzoo. The receipt of this email clearly demonstrates a lack of communication between Travelzoo departments. One call to Travelzoo via the number given on the booking email went to a number which was no longer available!

We had a nice experience at the Leonardo, we were greeted by friendly reception staff, and check in was smooth. The room clean and comfortable.
Breakfast was nice and plentiful, and the bar area comfortable. Couldn't fault the location it's perfect for getting anywhere easily.

Hotel is right next to the Governor Shopping Mall there is an escalator and lift a few steps from the hotel. All staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. We noticed that the carpets and bathroom were Premier Inn decor - when we asked we were told there was going to be one but they pulled out and Leonardo took over. Still we have stayed at some very nice Premier Inns anyway. The breakfast was lovely and had everything you could want. Our room was an accessible one which was very spacious and comfortable. We don’t have any plans to revisit Chester but if we did we would stay here again. Great value for money. Not far from the railway station and taxi very cheap. This hotel is just around the corner to the centre of town with plenty of shopping and a beautiful Church and Cathedral, along with stunning architecture buildings.

Not aesthetically pleasing from the outside but clean well appointed rooms on the inside. Buffet breakfast included ,which was lovely and had plenty of choice. Really welcoming, helpful, friendly staff. Only downside was the parking, you have to use the shopping centre car park which is £10 a day. As its city centre, this can't really be avoided, but does mean you are within easy access of all attractions and things to do in Chester.

The staff at this hotel are wonderful. The whole team were so friendly and welcoming that it really made our stay. It's refreshing to see people who obviously really enjoy they're job, every single member of staff we encountered was friendly and helpful. Nothing was a problem and they're attitude really made our stay.

A good deal with Travelzoo. It was a Superior double but it wasnt really large enough; just about sufficient room around the bed not to call it tight. Good range of items for the breakfast. Room lighting and mirrors were ok, a/c worked well and couldnt hear road noise. Overall it was very good. PS It also had a very pleasant cosy bar area.

Car parking in the Governor shopping centre we decided to stay more than 24 hours we were given 2 options by the staff to add more time, one was to drive back out then in. Or leave the car in situ until we decided to leave then add on the extra time at the pay station. The latter option does not work!! We had to visit the management in the shopping centre so the staff in the hotel need to know the correct procedure as it would have cost us treble the amount of money

From a very warm welcome at check in to the quick and easy check out, we had a lovely couple of days at the Leonardo. The hotel is in a great location for sightseeing and the car park is close by. Our room was spacious, and very quiet despite overlooking the road with a comfortable bed and everything you need. The bar area was great and the breakfast was excellent. All staff were very friendly and helpful. We definitely recommend staying here!

Everything was really good EXCEPT when I got home not only had Leonardo Hotel taken two payments of £85 each for the two rooms, but also two payments of £50 each. I rang the hotel and the explanation was that it was to secure the booking and it would be paid back into my account in a couple of days. I don't think they needed to do this.
Hopefully it will be paid back tomorrow. This is the only thing that would make me unlikely to book them again.

Everything was good apart from the fact that we visited when the weather was exceptionally cold and the room was difficult to heat, so much so that we never fully warmed through on the first day. The breakfast was first class and the shower was fantastic.

You need to sort the heating out. The room heating continually cut off and never warmed through. It was only when we were in the room for a continued period of time that we could keep switching it on when it went off. To return to a cold room every time you leave the hotel is not a pleasant experience.

The hotel was in a good position with nearby parking. It well maintained, spotlessly clean, the staff werelovely and the breakfast was good. My disappointments were that the safe would not open, there was no hairdryer but this was manageable for a one night stay. Very well located for the sights and access to shopping areas. Good quiet rooms even overlooking the front road. Staff very friendly. Waking out of the hotel front door turn right and then access the Grosvenor centre and a dry walk to the car park above, turn left and access the walls for a 2 mile circuit of the city. Plenty of eating places around, didn't eat a meal at the hotel but the breakfast was well cooked, hot and tasty.

The hotel is in an excellent location for the lovely City of Chester. The room was a good size and facilities were good. We did feel there was a lack of staff at breakfast time as it took a long time to get any specific orders. The only negative comment really is about the price of a whiskey - I thought they were charging me for the bottle!

We greatly enjoyed our stay at the hotel which is Very convenient for the centre of Chester adjoining the grosvenor shopping centre. Staff were very approachable and helpful and the breakfast offered was varied and of reasonable quality.

We wanted a good quality base in Chester from which to explore the city. We booked 2 nights through a Travelzoo deal, staying midweek. The Leonardo absolutely fulfilled our expectations, and more. The hotel was spotless, the room was spacious and quiet, its location could not have been better. Although we had to park in the multi-storey carpark behind the hotel it was a very easy and quick walk to the hotel entrance, and the £10 per 24 hour parking was exceptional in such a busy city. We are looking to revisit the hotel in the near future as it was so welcoming and is such a good base to explore not only Chester but the surrounding area (we still have to visit Chester Zoo ! )

Without exception the staff were excellent.
I have special dietary needs (coeliac) and the waiters and particularly the chef at breakfast each morning could not have been more helpful and knowledgeable. The reception staff were efficient and very helpful. All in all we could not have felt more comfortable with the service efficiency and warmth.

We were allowed an early check-in though we only went to drop our bags, so that was very thoughtful. Room a very good size and so clean. As well as a 750ml bottle of really good Prosecco , brought in an ice bucket with flutes as part of the deal, there was complimentary chocolate and cold drinks in the room fridge. Great to have coffee pods and a machine to make a really nice drink too. The staff were charming and very ready with their smiles.
