Very pleasant experience.
However, we paid for an executive room and were given a standard room in a dirty condition then after notifying reception put in the correct room

I booked a newly refurbished executive double. I got a double room which had not been refurbished. The sink was cracked, there was paint peeling from the shower and bath surround.........and this was the third attempt at a room.

It was not clear we had to reserve parking (confirmation said parking on first come first basis). Had to park on a multi story car park a long way from hotel. We had two rooms (one dog friendly). Our check out was 1pm however on returning to the dog friendly room at 12 noon we found it had already been serviced and ready for the next guests despite having a Do Not Disturb notice on the door

Excellent deal. Good size room. Parking was the only real issue we had it said on my booking parking was limited & first come first served NO WHERE DID IT SAY YOU HAVE TO BOOK PARKING!!! So consequently we could not park at the hotel as all booked!! Breakfast in the Place was a good extra but had to ask for orange juice, butter & there was no marmalade gave up then.

Position was excellent for what we wanted to do. Large room but in need of updating. Comfortable bed!

Although the room had been refurbished the bathroom was poor.Shower poor, trickle of water if you wanted a bath.No shower cap, very basic. We were not told that we had the executive breakfast until the second day which was a shame as it was far superior to the ordinary breakfast.

The location in the monpelier quarter was good. The manager we talked to was very good. Most of the staff were good. Some needed training in customer service.
Other Comments
Our 1st room was directly above the kitchen which awoke us at 5am.
We were offered a 2nd room but the bathroom smelled of bad eggs.
We were finally offered an executive room but not the accompanying upgrades.
It wasn't until we complained to the manager that we really had our concerns addressed and compensation provided.
The dinner option we paid for was limited to a single menu for the week. On the 2nd evening they had run out of the best dish. The breakfast was average.
Parking was limited and needed to be booked with your room to obtain a slot.

The evening meals were very poor on both nights. I would recommend booking bed and breakfast only and going elsewhere for dinner as these were not worth paying the extra and certainly nowhere near the £25 each. Very disappointing

Location good but very limited parking which I think required booking but was not informed. Hotel Decor was showing its age. Floorboards very creaky especially in bedroom, however water was hot and shower function passable. Tea and coffee facilities in room although selection limited. Comfy bed and thick duvet although too warm for personal liking.
Breakfast very good with option to have eggs cooked to order which was a bonus.
We booked through Travelzoo and could not fault value of booking .

It was a great location in Harrogate. We didn't realise or see anywheres in any literature that we needed to book parking. Hence there was no availablty when we got there. The rooms are a little dated but that didn't spoil any of the enjoyment of our stay.

Simple booking and check in process, including offering a complementary upgraded breakfast service for the following morning. Our Executive Double Room was spacious and had everything you'd expect including a free standing fan to help cool the sunshine-facing room. The room facilities are a little dated (like having no sockets at one side of the bed) but all functional and comfortable.
