Hotel details
Part of the Coaching Inn Group, The Talbot is a Grade II-listed property. It stands in an elevated position overlooking the fields and meadows that border the River Derwent. Interiors have a "relaxed and stylish look" and the drawing room is a "particularly lovely space in which to while away time in front of the fire" (The Daily Telegraph).

The hotel is set in the quaint North Yorkshire market town of Malton. There are "plenty of independent bakeries, butchers, craft breweries, and restaurants to explore alongside its cobbled streets and bustling square" (Daily Mail). The town sits midway between York and Scarborough (30–45 minutes away) and on the boundaries of the Howardian Hills National Landscape. Castle Howard and Kirkham Priory are both 10 minutes' away by car.
