About the accommodation
There are three options to choose from:
- Safari Suites... large safari tent-style glamping accommodation with distinct rooms. Each has an open-plan living area. Outside, each has a covered balcony and a hot tub with views of the Langdales.
- Safari Tents… these large tents sleep up to six, with one double bedroom and a second bedroom with four single bunks. There's also a decking area with outdoor furniture.
- Hideaway Pods… each pod sleeps up to four adults and two children. They have a mezzanine sleeping area, a dining room that converts to a double bedroom, and a double sofa bed. They also have 10-foot-tall windows and a furnished outdoor deck so you can enjoy the view.
All accommodations have a kitchenette with a fridge, dishwasher, microwave, and hob. Each option also has a bathroom and private parking. Safari Suites have bathrobes to use with the hot tubs. Towels and linen are included with all accommodation options.
About the park
Skelwith Fold is an AA and VisitEngland 5-star caravan park close to Lake Windermere and Ambleside. The AA calls it a "superb touring park" in a "beautiful setting".
Facilities include a reception and a well-stocked shop that is open every day. There's a heated launderette and drying room, plus a library of books to borrow for free. Outdoors, there's a children's play area, nature hide, and recreation area with a stone henge. There are 130 acres of woodland walks to discover, with numerous pathways and trails.
Ambleside, a hub for walking, shopping, and dining, is less than 10 minutes' drive away. Windermere is around 15 minutes away by car.
