A lovely weekend in a perfect little village, the great weather was an added bonus! The bed was very comfortable, there was lots of hot water, good size towels and a warm bathroom.

Last time we stayed we were in the old part of the pub- this time we were in an extension at the back which wasn’t so nice. Upon arrival we felt like we were intruding- lots of regulars at the bar who weren’t very welcoming. The young man with the Arsenal tattoo on his leg was pleasant enough but could have been friendlier. We ate in the restaurant the first night- the four of us agreed that the food was beautifully presented but took a long time to arrive and wasn’t hot which was a shame. The next morning breakfast again took a long time to come but was hot and delicious and we all enjoyed it and the variation on the menu was great! Disappointed with our room this time- it needs a little TLC; grouting in the bathroom, chipped and scuffed paintwork and sadly no biscuits on the hospitality tray and the kettle took ages to boil. All that being said we enjoyed our stay and the ladies serving breakfast were very friendly and made us feel welcome.

Very friendly and helpful staff. We were there in very hot weather and the cold water tap only gave hot water.

From arriving there were problems the room had one small wardrobe in the corner with one small door at the top and one large door at the bottom unfortunately the large door was held on by just one hinge so we had to leave it open at all times otherwise it would have fallen off as well as this the toilet seat was hanging on by a wing and a prayer on the second morning at breakfast the so called chef arrived at 8.00 instead of 7.00 which meant that some guests had to miss breakfast the third morning we were waiting an age for breakfast for some reason every one seemed to be very unhappy all in all a disaster

Room was very comfortable. It was on the road side but this did not bother us even in the hot weather with the window open. the Staff were very helpful and pleasant. the only down side was service from the kitchen was very slow.
