Slaley Hall is an Edwardian mansion set in 1000 acres of Northumberland countryside. Close to National Parks, unspoilt beaches, and historic hotspots, it's a super location for a UK break. A 2-night winter escape at this northeast gem is less than £125 per person.

You'll get complimentary access to the health club. Facilities there include a heated indoor pool, sauna and steam room, whirlpool, and gym. "You will not be bored", promises The Daily Telegraph. 

Slaley Hall is a great base from which to explore the North Pennines. It is 30 minutes' drive from Northumberland National Park, as well. Soak up some history at Hadrian's Wall or Beamish—The Living Museum of the North. Or, take a stroll along Longsands beach. All are 50 minutes' drive away. 

Golfers can choose between two 18-hole championship golf courses. The Hunting course is "widely recognised as the top track in the north east" (Today's Golfer). A range of pampering treatments are offered for a fee at the onsite spa. We have also negotiated a spa package, including a treatment and afternoon tea, for £84.

Dining options include three restaurants and two bars. We'd recommend a late-night tipple in the Whiskey Snug with its wingback chairs and coal fire.
