"Excellent staff, excellent food in the restaurant. Room and ensuite large and comfortable. Lovely convenient location with some great views. Buffet breakfast hot items could have been kept warmer but there was a great choice otherwise. Quiet times meant an obvious lack of staff, as reception desk staff doubled as bar staff during the afternoon, resulting in a wait to be served."

The design of the building was great, the older parts were a pleasure to look at, there were many beautiful villages & towns in the local area.

Pair of dirty mens socket found in wardrobe on day of checkout. No staff at reception to tell. (0810) Lack of vegetarian options. Dirty glasses left outside from previous afternoon. No means to control Aircon in room, had to get reception to turn it off. Coach party arrived, waiters seemed wholley unprepared next morning, people left standing waiting for a clean table. People standing waiting for cups, bowls etc etc. transport is essential for even a walk ! Nothing at all in walking distance from the hotel. The lady with the blond hair behind the bar is a delight, as was the English (?) lady on reception on Saturday pm. The lady who called round to service the room was also very pleasant. Not at all the standard we expected from a 4* hotel.

All 3 reception staff were very welcoming. The polish lady serving drinks and taking the food orders a credit to the hotel. Breakfast was plentiful and a lovely selection. Quiet location with various outdoor seating areas. We found housekeeping maintained a very good standard. Yes we would recommend

A perfectly placed hotel for exploring the pretty town of Thame. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome. Aga in particular is a credit to the team. She went out of her way to ensure we enjoyed our two night stay, she even made sure we could watch the Traitors final on the TV in the bar! That’s hospitality at its finest- nothing was too much trouble for her! Our room was on the ground floor overlooking the garden. It was quiet with a large comfortable bed, ambient lighting and had all we needed for our visit including complimentary toiletries and a well stocked tea tray. The room came complete with safe and a fridge. My only criticism would be that the bathroom is a little dated and could do with a bit of TLC. Please take slippers with you as you’ll need them- the bathroom floor is tiled and very cold underfoot and there is also no heating or heated towel rail which didn’t make for a pleasant bathing experience although the hot water was plentiful.

I have to say, the food served in the restaurant is absolutely outstanding! We were a party of four and ate in the restaurant both nights, and although the meals were a tad expensive they really were worth the money. The drinks were reasonably priced though which was a surprise considering there isn’t a lot of competition in the area. We all had a wonderful stay and wouldn’t hesitate in returning. A big thank you to everyone at The Mercure Thame Lambert Hotel!
