I was rather shocked when I went to the counter to get the cooked part of my breakfast at 9.25 (the eggs and bacon had run out) and upon asking for some was told they wouldn’t be cooking any more as breakfast closes at 9.30am. I had to point out that it was still BEFORE 9.30 that she went to cook me a portion (I didn’t bother to ask for bacon too).

Great location, room was nice with comfy bed and seafront view. The main gripes were two of the restaurants were closed so only the conference suite was being used as a bar/snack area. Lacked any charm or atmosphere. The ladies toilets were locked so had to go back to my room on 5th floor to use facilities. Breakfast was good and staff were polite and helpful. Overall pleased with our stay for the price paid.

It is just standard, slightly dated but perfectly acceptable hotel.

I could not stay the second night.
This was due to sleeping ( on a night of high wind) with my neck directly in a draft. I only found thus out on waking at about 5am.
By the time I took my breakfast, my neck was stiff and I told reception of the proble.( the seals around the door had failed)
I was attending a play in the early afternoon, during which I could hardly move my neck.
I returned to the hotel and booked out. Leaving my number for the
Manager to call me on Friday.

The hotel was easy to find and we were pleased to find that our room was spacious, clean and had a side sea view - not expected. We booked through a third party and got great value too. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly.

The hotel advertises deals through their web site as well as at the hotel. The parking is on the sea front opposite the hotel and very reasonable.
The breakfast was freshly prepared and a lot of choice and the bar is well stocked.

As always, our experience gained over many years, the View has everything. A prime position close to the town , theatres and is on the sea front . It has very high standards of service, attentive staff, excellent with wide choice of food at breakfast served in a relaxed comfortable environment. Bedrooms are always warm and clean with everything, including tea and coffee facilities to hand. The bed so comfortable it’s hard to get up and leave in the morning! Through many years we have never had a complaint and always look forward to our return
and clean comfortable.

Great location right on the sea front. Request a room with balcony. Lovely lookout. All staff are polite, helpful and courteous. Parking vouchers can be purchased at reception and there are lots of parking bays, it’s cheap too. Breakfast was good.

The bar as its open to the public, closes at 11pm, then its drinks via reception staff, too much hassle..... Normally hotel bars are late opening for guests... no enthusiasm to mess about from sitting in the bar to then go to reception to arrange more drinks... Included breakfast was excellent..

Have stayed here before several times. An amazingly good hotel considering it is only 3 star but presumably only because it doesn’t have a spa, swimming pool etc. Rooms, restaurants and particularly the staff are all excellent. Would recommend to anyone.

We had a wonderful weekend at The View Hotel! We got the room we requested with fantastic views over the sea and the pier. Reception staff were very efficient and professional ensuring a quick check-in. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choices for all.

Lovely hotel. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our room had a balcony with a side sea view. Breakfast was excellent, with everything being constantly replenished. Only criticism would be that the balcony could have done with a clean, dirty glass and lots of cobwebs. We have booked to go back.

Buffet breakfast excellent with hot, well-prepared food and plenty of choice. Breakfast timings very wide, which was welcome. Highly suitable for disabled people. No hassles or niggles.

Part of the road along the esplanade was closed, which made it very difficult to navigate our route to the hotel, as there is a one way system in the town. This was not The View’s fault, but it was a source of great frustration for us

Superb hotel in all respects. We booked a king sea side balcony room and the room provided had a panoramic sea view in an ideal location. The bed was super king and very comfortable and breakfast was superb. Will definitely be returning if another Travelzoo offer becomes available. Parking was on street with vouchers purchased at £2.35 daily from hotel and we had no trouble finding a space

Parking is in zone H which is indicated on the white sign on lampposts. The View, in our opinion, is so much more than the current 3* rating.

The View hotel is in a great location on the seafront and only 15 minutes walk from the train station. On arrival we were given a room upgrade to a side balcony room, which had lovely views. The hotel also sent up a bottle of wine, which was included in the deal. The buffet breakfast was delicious and plenty of choice. The room was really nice with modern decor and the bed was really comfy. Thank you Travelzoo for a great deal. We would definitely stay at the View hotel again. Lovely staff and very nice hotel.

Two large parties downstairs. I was told that there are normally large parties held most weekends!
There was a deep base thumping from one of the parties that I found very distressing!
I felt that I was not a valued guest and that I was gate crashing an exclusive venue!
I discussed my concerns and it was suggested I keep the TV on till midnight to drown out the sound!
Also the receptionist was curt, abrupt and Was pulling his fingers to make clicking sounds! Iasked about parking and he was abrupt and rude!
I eventually found out that a guest had a heart attack so there was a medical emergency! That made sense to the receptionists behaviour but I was still very upset!
I would never book a hotel that held large noisy events!
I mentioned it to a manager and she said that because I had booked through Traveloozoo, there was no option to indicate those details! I felt that booking through Travelzoo was less reliable? After 2 days a manager rang me back after giving another excuse that they had a power cut the day before! She suggested in future book directly with the hotel and they might give me a 'discount'! It was a phone call whilst in the car so I didn't get the managers name or an email to clarify the conversation!

Clean but tied in places. Your offer was a great price but we asked to stay an extra night (Saturday) and was quoted £230 at a discounted price. After being told there was availability it was then a bigger issue and we had to wait for phone call the next day. By then and the price quoted we had gone off the idea.
The room had a balcony which needed a good clean. The patio door glass was very dirty. The safe in our room did not work, we had no tea bags , only 1 towel . We did report this and all but the safe was put right.
The breakfast was good.
We found some of reception staff a little uninterested at times and not as friendly for front of house!

The hotel was in a great location and our room had a very good sea view. The balcony was very comfortable. The staff were all very helpful. The breakfast, although buffet style, was very fresh and all the hot stuff was regularly replaced with freshly cooked items.

Our only very slight criticism was that the extras in the room were minimal. The selection in the coffee/tea area was very basic, there were no tissues in the room or sanitary stuff for ladies. This is not so important but for the standard of hotel it seemed to be letting itself down just a little.
