Surprised we had to pay for parking, although cost would have covered all car parks on the day, had we had the time to visit - museums closed at 3pm.

Really nice day out despite traditional January weather - cold & wet. Plenty of indoor attractions. We went ti Blits hill Victorian village, Enginuity & teh museum of Iron. - the staff in the old style shops were really friendly & knowledgeable about their subject. Just a word of caution the chips are fried in beef dripping . We had lunch in the new cafe next to the museum of iron - good service, interesting menu, & great selection of teas.

An excellent first visit for our grandsons and a trip down Memory Lane for us. A wonderful job of preservation by the Trust and a very worthy piece of English Histotry.
Other Comments
The sites and monuments have been very sympathetically preserved and interpretation signs and leaflets are well presented. New buildings and reuse of old preserved buildings has been carefully and thoughtfully carried out.
