The hotel is five miles from the edge of the North Wessex Downs National Landscape. The beech trees on the Wittenham Clumps were planted in the 18th century. Artist Paul Nash painted this renowned landscape many times. This popular walking spot, and the Ridgeway National Trail, are around 15 minutes' drive away.
The riverside market town of Wallingford is less than 20 minutes away by car. Walking trails explore the town's connection to its famous former resident, Agatha Christie. It was also a famed filming location for the TV series "Midsomer Murders". Cycling trails into the Chiltern Hills also start from Wallingford.
Oxford's city centre is 11 miles from the hotel. The nearest park-and ride-site is at Redbridge, 20 minutes' drive away. Admire the city's prestigious university and the UK's oldest botanic garden. In the warner months, try punting on the River Cherwell.
