The Fell Hotel is part of the Duke of Devonshire's 30,000-acre Bolton Abbey Estate.
The property is in the quintessential North Yorkshire village of Burnsall.
It was used as a location in the film "Calendar Girls". The hotel overlooks the Five Arch Bridge, which spans the River Wharfe.

We love the Fell, fabulous location and the view from the conservatory where you have the afternoon tea is stunning. Very relaxed atmosphere and the food/service never disappoints. They were even playing some of our favorite music ! This was our third visit for afternoon tea and we will definitely be returning!

I purchased two vouchers and took my sister in law and brother in law 87 and 85 we celebrated my sister in law’s birthday the staff were amazing went above and beyond. Food delicious dining room and views outstanding we have had afternoon tea in a number of venues including the Savoy in London but this experience exceeded all our expectations. Great sandwiches special attention for vegetarian. Mini Yorkshire pudding with carrot/veg. Whilst meat eaters had roast beef and rabbit sausage rolls delicious. Warm scones great strawberry jam and cream. The cakes fantastic all made n the premises. Special birthday plate with Happy Birthday in chocolate and mini Victoria sponge my sister in law was over the moon delighted. Amazing

Dogs in the restaurant although were well behaved. Would have preferred if there had been separate areas for dinners with dogs and without. Our dogs have always stayed in the car whilst we dined at night.

My starter was delicious and the other choices were tempting but the main course was a choice between (put simply) - fish & chips, sausage & mash or mac & cheese. The dessert menu tempted my husband, who also enjoyed the fish & chips. The food was well presented and the staff could not have been nicer.

What a beautiful venue as the outlook as you eat is stunning. With the river and fields ahead of you.
The menu was varied and vegetables exceptionally well cooked. Staff were attentive and professional.
The dining area was very comfortable, with a fresh and relaxed feel.

Lunch booking was made for 1.30pm yet the Devonshire Fell had us down for 2.30pm. Rather late for a midweek lunch? Otherwise it was a great experience. View from the table was stunning and staff were very attentive. Swapping wine for another drink and dealing with dietary requirements did not cause any issues. Only downside was a rather bland fish pie. Will return.

We walked to the venue from Grassington. It is quite a rise from the river finishing with steps, or a long walk to level access, into the building.
