"beautiful hotel well situated for our visit to Osborne House. very accommodating friendly style. lovely room very clean and comfortable I would highly recommend"
Albert Cottage is a country house hotel with a boutique feel. Original Victorian tiled floors, coving and wood panels, and fireplaces create an atmosphere of period elegance.
The restaurant and bar has views of the garden. It is a fitting spot to indulge in Victorian afternoon tea (supplement applies).
The property is a stone's throw from Osborne House. Walk through opulent state rooms, family suites, and "glorious gardens" (Country Living).
The scenic 68-mile Isle of Wight coastal path covers the entire circumference of the island. The section of the path that connects East Cowes and Ryde is a short stroll from the hotel.
*Ferry crossing reservations are made through Albert Cottage. Car ferry crossing on both Red Funnel and Wightlink is for a standard car (up to 5 metres in length and 2.4 metres in height). In the event of ferry crossing cancellations, contact the hotel to secure alternative ferry crossing dates. Your voucher will be redeemed for the original booking date, but the hotel will honour the voucher up to 12 months from the original booking date at no extra charge.

We had a nice 3 night stay. The room was a good size, although perhaps the furnishings a little tired. The breakfasts were very good and we had a nice meal there on our first evening. There is a nice bar area and outside seating in the garden to relax in. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming.
Other Comments
We had a room that was to the front of the hotel, and we could hear the road noise (as the windows are only single glazed). we presume the rooms at the back would be quieter. We also found the bed to be very firm!

We stayed here 2 years ago, and loved it so much we came back!! It's a lovely building and the rooms are large and elegant. The location is perfect for exploring the island, and conveniently close to the ferry. We had free tickets to Osborne House, which is beautiful and well worth a visit. Breakfast was excellent and the staff friendly and helpful.

Ok for a short break, very clean overall although a little dated and worn in furnishings and carpets.bathroom was a good size with a beautiful roll top bath which unfortunately for my wife who is only five foot tall found it a bit challenging to get in and out of , may I suggest a hand rail to help resolve this issue. Breakfast was excellent, good quality ingredients and a fair choice. Staff both helpful and attentive. We did not it in the restaurant of an evening,

It was a very nice experience. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was very relaxed, a lovely room to enjoy it in, nothing too much trouble and cooked to order which is a treat. The restaurant is such a nice place to eat, dinner was delicious and staff were lovely, friendly and informative. The gardens and grounds are beautiful, well maintained. It would be lovely to sit outside when the weather is good.

As expected the character and decor of the building is excellent. But due to its age there are limitations eg: noisy plumbing, you can hear people moving on the floor above and the sash windows were propped open with wooden wedges. But don’t let that stop you from staying here.

Room was very clean and tidy although a bit ‘tired’ huge stains on very well worn carpet. Slippers definitely required!
We didn’t dine in at hotel as we felt prices a little too expensive and this was clarified by other guests who didn’t think the content was good value
This a shame and so we sought out alternative evening dining!

Easy and friendly check-in. Had our first night’s dinner (Sunday) in the restaurant which was excellent - service, food quality and quantity. Each day we had breakfast; again excellent service, quality and quantity. We used the bar to grab a drink on each night- great service, very friendly and helpful staff- chatting about what we’ve done during the day and plans for the next- suggestions / tips on how we could enhance our time visiting various off site venues, and additional experiences that we could so easily have missed whilst travelling. Rooms were very good size and well laid out. Furnishings were comfortable and well thought out and everything worked. Loved the ambiance. Hotel location for us was perfect.

First time visiting this historic cottage. Staff are ever so nice with attention to detail, politeness and great service. The building and rooms are large and tastefully decorated to recreate the Victorian period.
All helped by a cool breeze during a heat wave.

All perfectly pleasant with exception of the young lady working in the restaurant who was a little offhand (resulting in her making a mistake with our food order)
Other Comments
The area given over to be the restaurant was obviously a large (wedding function?) room, and didn't serve too well as a comfortable/intimate restaurant area. By contrast, there was a very attractive and welcoming bar area (which we used on our second night) but it could only seat four people for a meal.
