A great value for money hotel within walking distance of Lulworth Cove. A couple of drawbacks, no parking on site but short distance to council carpark nearby, and no bar or restaurant at present.
Other Comments
It is important to tell visitors that the parking permit covers all carparks within that area .
The machines in other carparks are not aware you have prepaid and try to charge a fortune.
Why why are you cutting small loaves of bread in half, they get lost inside the toaster and burn, please stop this mad approach

Easy to find, pleasant room with nice crisp linen, staff friendly, breakfast simple but a decent variety to choose from, ideally situated for all the things we wantd to do in the area.
Other Comments
Apart from breakfast they don't provide any meals, we would strongly recommend a short walk into the village to eat & drink at The Castle Inn.

Pleasant place, but the hotel is certainly in need of an upgrade, some had been done but certainly in need of a lot more work to reach a reasonable slandered. The staff though were very good and couldn’t do enough to make it a pleasant stay.

Staff couldn’t be nicer , hotel is beautiful and so close to the sea.
The deal with the car park was a real saving and hassle free. Breakfast was in the most beautiful orangery with spectacular views . I’d definitely return.

Hotel in process of being modernised and the areas completed were very nicely done.
Room was small but very clean and had a good tea/coffee/water tray. Complimentary toiletries are a good quality. Beautiful location.
The best thing about the hotel though is the staff. Everyone we spoke to was friendly and more than helpful. A shout out to Rory in particular who made us feel we were in a home from home.

For the price we paid it was excellent value. We were very warmly welcomed and the staff were all friendly. Our room had lovely views and the bed was comfortable. The curtains however were a great disappointment as they were badly torn. We understand that the hotel has only recently changed hands and hopefully it will be refurbished to a much higher standard.
We would return if we were able to get a deal again or at a higher price if it was refurbished.

Yes, a brilliant location, a lovely breakfast room and a friendly chap at breakfast.

Our room, no 10 and was downstairs with a really poor view and very noisy due to a broken drain and the water was constantly tripping onto a metal cover and driving us mad. Also from 7am a constant door opening and squeeking. Shame!

The view from our room was spectacular. Lulworth cove was very welcoming generally, including our hotel staff. Breakfast was good and we enjoyed it. The hotel ambience was comfortable and felt like home from home. We just wanted to chill out and didn't want to spend alot of time in the car. There was a good selection of pubs, cafes and restaurants within walking distance which suited us. A long weekend was the right amount of time at this time of the year when you can't rely on the weather.

Absolutely fabulous from start to finish, this offer was fantastic & such good value for money. The hotel is situated a 5 minute walk from Lulworth Cove in the most idyllic setting, it’s truly breathtaking.
They have no on site parking but you can drive up & drop off passengers or luggage then the pay & display car park is directly across the road. Once you register you have an option for the two night stay at the hotel so for 48 hrs this will cost only £10 considering the hourly rate is £3.10 this is an added bonus. It will also cover you if you drive over to Durdle Door & park there nothing more to pay. For those able bodied & energetic people you can walk up the steps & over the hill to Durdle Door. The hotel has recently acquired new owners Rory & his family who are very friendly & accommodating. The rooms are a little tired but the family are working tirelessly to improve this. However, the rooms are comfortable & warm with queen sized beds & fresh clean linen. Tea, coffee, biscuits & water are provided with a kettle. The bathroom has clean fresh fluffy towels & toiletries.
The breakfast is continental with cereals, fruit juices, toast, preserves, fruit, yoghurt & pastries. It’s more than adequate & provided in a beautiful orangery room with wonderful views.
A huge thank you to Rory & his family & their lovely Manager Pauline & her staff for a relaxing & enjoyable stay. We would highly recommend the Durdle Door Hotel.

It appears the hotel is under new ownership and undergoing much needed renovation. Very basic and the Continental Breakfast was also very basic and frugal. The hotel was very clean but our room was not serviced although one of the staff rushed and kindly remedied this when we returned in the evening.

Comfortable bed and good pillows. Bathroom very small and could have been configured differently to provide somewhere to put toiletries etc. Shower hot but not very powerful. Glass shelf over the tiny sink made teeth brushing difficult. Could have done with a non slip mat in the shower.

Welcoming staff and continental breakfast was excellent. Room a bit tired with worn furnishings but I ùnderstand the hotel is in new hands so perhaps plans are afoot for improvements. Curtains in our room were old and frayed in places but lined and heavy enough to keep out the light. We had everything we needed.

Great location to walk to Durdle Door and around Lulworth Cove. Paid a little extra for a spacious family room with a very comfy bed and a sofa. Continental breakfast was a bit dull but filled a hole! No other meals served here but a very nice pub with the most extensive menu I've seen in while just 2 doors away.

The good bits are it’s in a lovely location although I expect it gets really busy during the summer. The staff were also very friendly. The not so good bits were the hotel is looking ‘very tired’. Thread bare carpet greets you as you walk up the stairs, weeds growing over the hotel sign outside, the room we had could do with a good clean and repaint, signs of water leaks and bubbling paints in various areas including the orangery where the breakfast was served.
The staff although lovely were reactive rather than proactive. When we arrived for the advertised continental breakfast it mainly only consisted of toast, a few pastries, and muesli and cereal. It was served between 8-10am, we arrived at 9am to find almost nothing left and we were told the hotel was only about half full. Asked if there were any more and was told there was a 20min wait. They also ran out of decaf coffee on the 2nd morning which again if somebody had seen it was low the day before they could have got more. Especially as the owner came from Weymouth and could have brought some with him.
The hot water in our you had to leave the tap running for well over 3 mins before any hot water came through. The gardens outside could be beautiful but are completely overgrown.
Apparently the building had been empty for a few years and it shows having been taken over by the new owner in August last year.
I was disappointed that the owner sat in the breakfast room on our second morning over his laptop and didn’t seem that keen in speaking to any guests about their stay and what could be improved.
As I said the staff were lovely and they were short staffed which would probably explain the lack of proactive response. I hope they can make a number of simple improvements to make it a success but there is a lot of work to do!

We were a family group of four adults, and we all enjoyed our stay at Lulworth Cove. The hotel is located very close to the car park and to the Cove, which is beautiful. Our room had a lovely sea view and a modern en-suite. The staff were all friendly and helpful, particularly Mark on the front desk.

Although know on site car park the public pay & display was only minutes away. Make sure you take the hotel’s advice and pay in advance for an online permit as much cheaper at £5 per day.
