Bearslake Inn is situated between the small market towns Tavistock and Okehampton.
Parts of the inn date back to the 13th century.
Where possible the pub sources produce direct from local farmers, fisherman, and growers.
Take in the picturesque views of Dartmoor and the surrounding countryside on The Granite Way. This mostly motor traffic-free cycle/walkway between Okehampton and Lydford runs directly behind the pub.

Everything was excellent. Great to try different dishes that we haven't tried before. Very tasty. I did struggle with the portion sizes as they were too big for someone with a smaller appetite. This is now a favourite place to eat and worth us travelling to.

Menu was different and inferior with less options than advertised when voucher purchased and is still being advertised! Asked for other menu options and was told would be extra £20 to change from Vension sausages to steak when price difference on menu was only £12! Had vension sausage and mash as main course, which was not great (mash potatoes served tepid) This offer does not offer value for money. Very disappointed. Will not return or recommend

Very welcoming chatty staff who are adept at predicting your needs. Located on the edge of the powerful Dartmoor landscape, which can be appreciated either aesthetically from your bedroom window or with a bracing 10 minute walk, which gets you to higher ground and great views. Food and drink is of excellent standard as was service. Big warm beds and strong hot showers made us feel relaxed and comfortable within hours of arriving here.

Excellent time at Bearslake Inn. Food was fabulous, very pleasant staff. Room clean and bed really comfy if on a slant !! The only downside was having to go down and collect our breakfast to go and then take it back to our room to eat. Just a plain croissant in a bag and a drink, no jam or anything. Was also put off by the bill which already had had a charity donation and the 10% service charge added to it. This increased our bill by an additional £25!! I had the service charged removed but left the charity donation. I would've appreciated if I had been asked if I would like to pay the charity donation and if I wished the service charge to be added. You don't expect to pay for a voucher at a set price then find out there's possibly an additional charge. Would go back for another stay tho !!

Staff couldn't have been more welcoming - they had even all signed a birthday card for my husband and left a bag of treats for our dog with her name on!
We were upgraded to a superior room which was really spacious and lovely and warm on a winter weekend. Nice selection of teas and coffees and some biscuits. Really enjoyed the meal. Desserts fabulous. We enjoyed every minute of it.
They stored our bikes away safely in a locked shed.
We got a leaflet with circular walks from the pub which was really handy. Couldn't fault anything

There was only one space left in the car park on arrival which indicates just how popular this establishment is. The front door was beautifully decorated in traditional Christmas style which was a nice welcome, as was the interior. The staff are always pleasant, hard-working and attentive. The food is always delicious. Who knew that everyday staples like soda bread and scotch egg could be divine?

There was no-one to greet us on entry, nor any instruction notice, so we were a bit bemused as to where to go/what to do initially. Didn't realise we should have gone to the bar first with our Travelzoo voucher. Also, we thought out table felt a bit odd 'floating' in the middle of the dining room. Would have preferred to be seated more securely by a window, as it was just the two of us.
