Short break close to Peak District. Deal we booked was real value for money. Bedroom clean, spacious and all needed was provided. Food was delicious and very well presented. The hotel itself was dated but I think that may be on purpose to go with the age of building and added to the atmosphere. Though weather was not good we looked round the extensive gardens and in summer they had potential to be stunning.

The hotel website lets it down as shows no pictures of the interior. Spa is well advertised but we did not use that facility.

It could have been lovely but unfortunately wasn’t.

Been on numerous weekend breaks, including a number via Travelzoo. This was by far the worst experience of them all. The evening meal on the Sunday was absolutely awful. I complained to the management (2 separate individuals) and was promised a call back… I’m still waiting. I was told senior management were on site on the Monday due to the number of complaints from guests about the standard of food and the waiting time. If I don’t receive a call by end of play, Thursday I will be putting my thoughts down on a Trust Pilot review of the hotel. The breakfast service/ availability of food was nearly as bad on the Tuesday. Faulty Towers springs to mind. Sadly a lack of pride by a lot, not all, of the staff and managers will lead to serious issues with this hotel imo. The owners should be made aware. An extremely disappointed customer.

The location is perfect. A 10mins cab ride from Cherterfield train station. The room was spacious and comfortable with view of the gardens. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The facilities are plentiful and well organised. The spa is wonderful.

It was a wonderful weekend at the Ringwood Hall hotel.

A really nice venue to explore the Peak District. Rooms are tired looking but clean and comfortable. Lovely grounds to walk around. Good value . Food good.

Hotel’s website does not sell it well and no local information to encourage walks locally.

Staff were amazing, and ever so kind and helpful.

The fact that the use of spa was at an additional cost. And the fact that nobody bothered to tell me until I was in my bikini ready to go enjoy the facilities. I mean £39/24 hour access, just so I can use the jacuzzi for 10 minutes, it is outrageous. Very disappointing! I have never ever experienced such thing. Always use of spa facilities is included in the price of the room. OK, I wouldn't expect any treatments, massages, etc... but just a little swim or jacuzzi for 10 minutes... what is the problem? Also, the hotel is not very pushchair or wheelchair friendly. Quite annoying that I had to carry the baby, luggages and everything to the end of the world because I cannot take the pram to the room!!

Nice meal first night, room was showing a bit of wear and tear which was disappointing as a 4 star. They seemed to be a little short staffed in most areas but the staff were great and helpful. Treatments in spa were great, only thing was its small and there were lots of people so maybe could stagger the times more?

All good apart from the fact that the dining room were not aware that we were entitled to afternoon tea with Prosecco as part of our deal. Fortunately the kitchen were ! Our friends, who were booked in for two nights were not told that they had to book their afternoon tea the previous day so there was a little confusion in trying to get the six of us all together. Eventually arranged.

Had a great time at the hotel. Rooms spacious and warm, staff friendly and helpful and food delicious. Thank you all for a great weekend

Decent hotel with good food. Room was clean with usual amenities but the bed was two singles pushed together with a very uncomfortable soft mattress! Staff all good and attentive.

Staffs extremely friendly and helpful and lovely gardens. Room was spacious and Spa was excellent as was the Afternoon Tea

Having requested a ground floor room on the basis of my husband's poor mobility we were horrified to find that none of the hotel was easily accessible for anyone with mobility problems. The route involving least steps involved going outside - not much fun when it's raining! I feel the hotel has a duty to warn guests of the numerous staircases between room and facilities such as the restaurant. Website states "Wheelchair access to Reception" which there is - but that's as far as you would get. I should have been alerted by the lack of an Accessibility Statement but having told them of my husband's mobility issues I would have expected to be advised that the hotel is quite unsuitable for those of limited mobility and would be totally out of the question for wheelchair users. Otherwise it's a lovely, quirky hotel but the access difficulties quite spoilt our stay. Breakfast a bit disappointing as barely warm and plates supplied were stone cold.

We were in the Bothy away from main hotel which we like as have a dog. Lovely room. Qwerky corner bath and shower in the bedroom but after initial doubts it was fine and was a talking point with family at home. Love the garden beautiful and well kept. Breakfast plentiful and well presented. Only issue was service for evening meal we had to wait an hour before served. They had staffing problems but if explained this as we sat down and offered us a drink on the house it wouldn’t have been as bad. Only when we complained were we offered a drink on the house. Having said that meal was lovely and would visit again

We had a lovely time, the staff were excellent and very helpful and friendly. The food was fantastic and even the breakfast was really nice. It was a pretty setting and I'm sure the spa was good although we didn't try it. The only thing was the WiFi wasn't the best and some of the guests seemed to slam every door they opened and decided to have screaming matches during the night (not the hotels fault) but being woken during the night by neighbours screaming obscenities at each other wasn't the most conducive to a good night's sleep.

Would definitely recommend a stay, staff were great and the food was delicious.
