At 33, Marco Pierre White became the youngest chef to be awarded three Michelin stars. He's since handed them back and retired from the kitchen, now a successful restaurateur.

They explained that they no longer did lunches but were honouring travel zoo vouchers. We were the only people in the restaurant therefore it seemed rather uninviting and hollow.

We had a great relaxed lunch, the staff were excellent, lots of staff and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Most of us upgraded our steak, which was no problem and we enjoyed drinks and desserts too.

On arrival, big signs saying pay for parking or £100 fine. Separate sign saying for restaurant ask reception for more information. Sign did not say diners were exempt from parking charges and so we paid . Had to wait about 40 minutes to be served even though on our arrival we were the only restaurant customers. One steak was nice, but the other was gristly. We could have asked for it to be changed but wanted to eat together and didn't want another long wait. We had one glass of wine for £7 approx and a service charge of £3 70 was then added to that ! Again we could have refused to pay service charge but it would have been awkward.

Great experience. Booking was a bit tricky. They have stopped the lunchtime offer now, so there was no option to select on the website. However, they contacted us quickly and booked us in over the phone. Food was great as always and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Beautiful setting at Cadbury house/hotel. Although it's a pay car park we asked at reception and just enter car details and was free for 3 hours. We ate in conservatory area of the main restaurant - very pleasant. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Good choice of starters, mains and desserts. We very much enjoyed our meals and time at the restaurant. Would recommend.

Although staff were lovely it did go a bit pear shaped in places. Served our meats and potatoes then 6 min wait for veg. Had to send meats back and wait for food to be returned all at the same time. Had to chase them up for our desert as well. Passed on the service charge. Which she said we could when she brought the bill.

Ordered additional drinks and the order was wrong even though it was written down. Two cocktails became one. Had to ask for the second. The water never arrived and just couldn't be bothered asking again. Asked for additional gravy and was given a pot of half meat juice, half fat. We had to ask for it to be changed. Staff were busy dragging tables around and sweeping the concrete floors while diners were eating. This was not a busy time of day. As we left the receptionist just ignored us.

Great total experience! Sunday lunch was a hidden gem. Excellent food, huge portions, not crowded - a big plus in London! We had the lamb and the beef which were both very good. Beet root salad was nice. Onion soup had plenty of cheese (we added a bit of salt - but so much better than over salted!) The small batch ice cream was amazing. Don’t miss the flakey dark chocolate. Voucher which included a glass of very decent house wine.

All the food was luckwarm - nothing was cooked to order except whitbait starter. Everything else was heated up. Really shockingly bad. I am very upset that Travelzoo would promote this merchant. Service was indifferent to the point of being rude. Again, shame on Travelzoo for recommending this restaurant.
