The rooms are fabulous as are the grounds. Unfortunately they are short staffed so service was slow but the girls who worked there did there best.. they had run out of real ale and the evening menu was fairly uninspiring. The full English breakfast was very good though.

We have stayed several times at the Ivy House over the years and have always been delighted with the service and the Food offerings. This time our expectation was not met. The restaurant menu was reminiscent of a burger bar with no "restaurant" food and the lager shandy was over diluted. The breakfast was very limited only a normal cooked breakfast was offered no porridge or fruit and limited cereal, orange juice was weak. very disappointing. They will only be open 4 days a week instead of all seven (Thursday to Sunday). I felt that the staff, in general, did not have the positive customer facing attitude we expected

Warm, comfortable room with everything working well. Quiet and traffic free. Even element of the breakfast was first class.

The driveway to the hotel is a difficult drive and cars need sufficient ground clearance. Lowestoft is lovely and the villages around the charming.

We have had a wonderful 2 night break at Ivy House. Our room was very comfortable and spacious, there were dog treats and bowls provided. We had access straight onto some grass and the field was close by. The huge rain forest shower had constant hot water. The bar area was light with views of the gardens. It was all perfect for us with our 4 legged friend. Every member of staff we met was so professional and welcoming. Nothing was any trouble. The 2 dinners and 2 breakfast were all absolutetly delicious, generous portions and served promptly. We would love to return in the summer to appreciate the beautiful grounds.

The place is absolutely beautiful the rooms are huge and nothing was to much trouble for the staff It's a shame it was pouring down with rain as would have like to walk around the grounds but was far to muddy and slippy Would defo go back hope in the summer

Lovely, friendly and helpful staff couldn't fault them and very dog friendly.

Our only criticisms are that the road/driveway into the hotel definitely needs resurfacing, it was very bad and the sink and toilet in our en suite bathroom were cracked and in need of an upgrade. However, we still had a very enjoyable stay and would probably return if we were in the area again.
