The standard rooms are extremely small. Nowhere to place a suitcase. But thats what travel zoo is about. Cheap to fill rooms. Food was fab. But we left early as room so small.

We stayed for 3 nights and used the restaurant on two of these. The food was very good and value for money. Service was good both for evening meals and breakfast's . House keeping was good and the room had a nice view (Lakeside) which was an upgrade on our booking.
Other Comments
It would have been nice if there was a separate bar and lounge area in the evenings as the only bar available was in a corner of the restaurant, so not very peaceful for having an evening meal.

Lovely hotel set within scenic parkland, quiet and restful just what we needed. The pleasant autumnal weather helped with this as we enjoyed drinks and tea on their peaceful patio area.
Close to places of interest as well.
Staff friendly and helpful.
Room small but well decorated and ensuite modern and spacious.
Restaurant meals tasty good portions and reasonably priced.

Great walks around Stanton Park which is easy access from the hotel. Marlborough is worth a visit. Swindon Designer Outlet is interesting as a building, and of course retail therapy.

Restaurant fod not very good. Paid restaurant prices for deeply average pub type food. One dish was returned and replaced by an acceptable alternative but still not sparkling. Dined out at a local pub for next two nights at half the price and got excellent food there. Hotel needs to up it's restaurants standards.

Food OK but not brilliant. Good range with large portions which unfortunately puts me off. My main comment however was the cost of the wine which given the poor quality had a 5 times mark up. On my final night I bought a 175ml glass of Merlot costing over £10, for a wine of dubious quality. I could have bought a bottle of this quality for way under £10, hence my suggestion of a 5 times mark up, which is excessive. Did enjoy the Mahou however,

Had the b&b deal for 3 nights. Very friendly check in. Offered info on the local area and leaflets on local walks /events. Beautiful house and grounds. Very relaxed setting. The included breakfast was fantastic-full English buffet /pastries/fruit/hams/cheese/cereals and breads.
The room was small (we couldn’t pass by each other around the bed!) BUT we only use the room as a base as we go out for the day. We are also aware that the deal was very cheap so the size of the room was NOT an issue for us. The bed was very comfortable and we had air conditioning included which was a blessing in the recent heatwave. The bathroom was great. We ate in the hotel restaurant once and the food was very good - good value for money. The local area is very beautiful if being outdoors suits you.

Lovely hotel with fine decor. Staff all friendly and helpful. Room slightly small but had all facilities we needed and was spotlessly clean. Only criticism during our stay was the restaurant which took an hour to produce our meals and the mozzarella stuffed chicken was no more than OK with minimal vegetables and a rosemary jus which was beef gravy. There seems to be a tendency to overcook in this restaurant including breakfast with dried out bacon and very crunchy hash browns.

The staff are supportive and helpful very pleasant . . We were able to upgrade to a better room £60 cost for 3 nights.
We enjoyed one night in the hotel for an evening meal. It was ok. We ate out the other two nights.
B’fast was good fresh and a good choice.
We feel it is in need of money being spent in all areas of the hotel. The gardens are poor, overgrown in parts & in need of a lot of attention.
We paid £199 for 3 nights + £60 upgrade - our room was very tired although very clean. Room service ie cleaned towels every day.tea coffee renewed every day.
If we had paid £600/£700 which you can pay on Booking.Com we would have been disappointed.
As always Travelzoo offered an excellent deal - of which we have enjoyed a number.

From first conversation with Yasmine when booking to check out this morning with the gentleman on reception (apologies for not getting your name), the staff were all extremely helpful and friendly. Our room was on the small side but it was kept spotlessly clean by housekeeping. The accessible room requested for 2 members of our party was spot on however. Also big shout out to the catering and waiting staff. Delicious food, plenty of choice and a clearly dedicated team that work well together. Not sure where Charlie gets his energy from but he is friendly and enthusiastic and was always visible with a friendly smile and/or wave. Thank you all for making this a very enjoyable stay.

Nice setting. Had expected slightly better room with the upgrade. Wine expensive. Strange smell coming from carpet during night, think it must have been cleaned recently and was cleaning product, smelt like air freshener. If stayed again would go for next level of room

We had shortlisted this hotel for a stay that tagged onto a long weekend with friends.
When it popped up on Travelzoo, with breakfast inc we decided to go for it.
Great location, very quiet.
Restaurant is not baf value, and the food is good.
Breakfast is buffet and there's plenty of options.
Our room was an upgrade we paid additional money for and it was worth it. Lovely big room, bathroom.
The only thing that lets the whole place down are the grounds. They look like once they were magnificent, but need some care and attention now. It's not a deal breaker but would add to the stay , especially in the warmer weather.
Other Comments
The restaurant staff were amazing, remembering likes and dislikes. And were very welcoming,as were the guys on reception... That all adds to the experience.
No substitutions. Seasonal items subject to change.
