More Reasons to Go

  • The coastal villages of Lynton and Lynmouth are nicknamed 'Little Switzerland' for their "alpine-esque scenery" and the "impressive cliff railway" that connects them (The Times). Lynmouth is at sea level with a beautiful harbour and Lynton is perched 500 feet above.
  • The hotel lies within Exmoor National Park, an area popular with ramblers. An easy walk from Lynton to the Valley of Rocks includes coastal heathlands, rock formations, and a herd of wild goats.
  • Dine on a classic pub menu with crowd-pleasers and seasonal specials. The bar offers a range of ales from Cornwall's St Austell brewery, alongside cask ales and draught beers.
  • Watersmeet is an expansive estate where the East Lyn River meets Hoar Oak Water. It contains a fishing lodge, a tea room, ancient woodland, and waterfalls. It is 10 minutes' drive away.

Didn’t feel it was up to the usual Travelzoo standards The staff were pleasant & Dinner was exceptional the location of hotel was magical but the accommodation did not match up For any guest whether it be through Travelzoo or not the room should be up to a modern standard & clean tho bedding was clean enough the en suite wasn’t toilet was dirty pipes to sink were caked in black dirt shower tray had mould around it no shelving & along with room very very small When we opened window we were overwhelmed by the cooking smell from the kitchen extractor fan making us feel we were literally shoved into a lesser room Finally we were only able to stay one night from two due to illness tho our meal voucher was honoured we felt the extra £5 charged was abit mean considering we had lost 50% of our stay

The shower needs updating, and the room got a little cold at times. I understand the hotel is being renovated in the new year.

We had three nights in the relaxed atmosphere of this hotel. Our bedroom was very clean and comfortable, breakfast and evening meals were very good. New managers Jo and Paul and their staff very helpful and extremely pleasant, altogether making it a very enjoyable stay. We ill be returning.

The Hotel is in the central old part of Lynton, and originally an 18th century Coaching Inn. The Bar is popular with both tourists and locals, also serving good and tasty bar meals. Car parking available for guests.
