Had the b&b deal for 3 nights. Very friendly check in. Offered info on the local area and leaflets on local walks /events. Beautiful house and grounds. Very relaxed setting. The included breakfast was fantastic-full English buffet /pastries/fruit/hams/cheese/cereals and breads.
The room was small (we couldn’t pass by each other around the bed!) BUT we only use the room as a base as we go out for the day. We are also aware that the deal was very cheap so the size of the room was NOT an issue for us. The bed was very comfortable and we had air conditioning included which was a blessing in the recent heatwave. The bathroom was great. We ate in the hotel restaurant once and the food was very good - good value for money. The local area is very beautiful if being outdoors suits you.

Plenty of outside garden tables and chairs to enjoy the sun/shade. Staff were particularly helpful and nothing was too much trouble.

The standard room was a bit small, design fault possibly, bathroom could have been shrunk to provide easier access in the room, had to shuffle sideways round bed at times especially with suitcase. Gardens were lovely, staff helpful and polite. Restaurant was a highlight and enjoyed evening meal there

Lovely hotel with fine decor. Staff all friendly and helpful. Room slightly small but had all facilities we needed and was spotlessly clean. Only criticism during our stay was the restaurant which took an hour to produce our meals and the mozzarella stuffed chicken was no more than OK with minimal vegetables and a rosemary jus which was beef gravy. There seems to be a tendency to overcook in this restaurant including breakfast with dried out bacon and very crunchy hash browns.

The staff are supportive and helpful very pleasant . . We were able to upgrade to a better room £60 cost for 3 nights.
We enjoyed one night in the hotel for an evening meal. It was ok. We ate out the other two nights.
B’fast was good fresh and a good choice.
We feel it is in need of money being spent in all areas of the hotel. The gardens are poor, overgrown in parts & in need of a lot of attention.
We paid £199 for 3 nights + £60 upgrade - our room was very tired although very clean. Room service ie cleaned towels every day.tea coffee renewed every day.
If we had paid £600/£700 which you can pay on Booking.Com we would have been disappointed.
As always Travelzoo offered an excellent deal - of which we have enjoyed a number.

From first conversation with Yasmine when booking to check out this morning with the gentleman on reception (apologies for not getting your name), the staff were all extremely helpful and friendly. Our room was on the small side but it was kept spotlessly clean by housekeeping. The accessible room requested for 2 members of our party was spot on however. Also big shout out to the catering and waiting staff. Delicious food, plenty of choice and a clearly dedicated team that work well together. Not sure where Charlie gets his energy from but he is friendly and enthusiastic and was always visible with a friendly smile and/or wave. Thank you all for making this a very enjoyable stay.

Nice setting. Had expected slightly better room with the upgrade. Wine expensive. Strange smell coming from carpet during night, think it must have been cleaned recently and was cleaning product, smelt like air freshener. If stayed again would go for next level of room

We had shortlisted this hotel for a stay that tagged onto a long weekend with friends.
When it popped up on Travelzoo, with breakfast inc we decided to go for it.
Great location, very quiet.
Restaurant is not baf value, and the food is good.
Breakfast is buffet and there's plenty of options.
Our room was an upgrade we paid additional money for and it was worth it. Lovely big room, bathroom.
The only thing that lets the whole place down are the grounds. They look like once they were magnificent, but need some care and attention now. It's not a deal breaker but would add to the stay , especially in the warmer weather.

The restaurant staff were amazing, remembering likes and dislikes. And were very welcoming,as were the guys on reception... That all adds to the experience.

An enjoyable 2-night break, with afternoon cream tea, though it seemed odd to have 10%service charge added for the tea at checkout. If everything else was included, why not the cream tea service charge?
Friendly and efficient staff. Clean room though a standard double had something lacking: 200mm between side of bed and the wall; only 1 chair in the room; awkward shower having to climb over he side of the bath
Other Comments
TV remote not working, reported at breakfast bit not replaced by 6pm, though receptionist very efficently sourced a replacement then within the hour. Basin Soap dispenser jammed and bath soap/shampoo dispensesr had microscopic wrinting identifying which was which.
overall enjoyable; just a few niggling snags.

Staff were all wonderful. Friendly helpful and interested in us, not just talking from a script like some places. Room not quite up to scratch with annoying things like broken toilet seat and , in our view furnished the wrong way round so that our beds were under the short curtains which meant daylight woke us up too early.

The drinks were way too expensive. £35.00 for a bottle of prosecco is terribley expensive. I feel they charged this because Stanton House is in the country and they know you have no where else to go. Also I thougt the food was of a poor standard. Though, the breakfast was very good.

Gemma on reception was great. I had a very dark bedroom on arrival and she immediately changed it for me. Sound proofing could be better - woken first morning at 0330 but someone having a bath in next room. Bedroom doors also bang loudly (can't be avoided due to their construction) so not good if a light sleeper. Staff all friendly and helpful. A good breakfast. Fabulous location. Garden and outside area could do with a thorough upgrade and rubbish removed. But would definitely return here.

Location was stunning and the view from our room was picturesque.
Staff service and hospitality was excellent and every effort was made to accommodate our wishes.
Breakfast was beautifully presented, wide choice and excellent value.
We had an afternoon tea which was rather disappointing as the scones were dry, cakes were shopping bought and not good quality and sandwich fillings were megre. The garden room setting was, however, beautiful.
Other Comments
Upon arrival and checking our room, which we paid an upgrade for, we found several issues which were lacking and which we informed the reception about.......there was only a small hanging rail with 3 coat hangers, which we felt was inadequate. There was no drawers for our clothes,so we lived out of our suitcase.
There was no shelf not electrical razor socket in the bathroom and as it was a room in the older part of the house there was a lack of extension leads to reach the limited sockets.
Felt rather unfinished and cramped for an upgraded room.
