Difficulty in booking. Spent an hour on the phone over two days with no one answering, had to go in person to book a table. For any hotel further afield we would not have been able to go. What a way to run a business!

The afternoon tea sandwiches; Chicken and tarragon was all mushed up with mayonnaise as was the Beef and horseradish.
What happened to using slices of chicken and Beef
The cakes were ok. The Scones with jam and cream or jam and butter were lovely

My only issue was that when making my booking with the hotel using my Travelzoo voucher, the confirmation ref stated 'Failed', so I was unsure if my booking had been accepted and had to ring up.

Nidd Hall is a beautiful elegant house and my 91 year old mother and I enjoyed indulging ourselves! The staff who took our afternoon tea order and looked after us were absolutely lovely people - thank you!

Littlecote house is a beautiful place. The afternoon tea was excellent value for money. Service was perfect. The only downside was that it was quite cold in the hall they serve the tea. But would come again.

4 stars for ambience/atmosphere as the tea room was the thoroughfare for newly arrived guests with their suitcases!

A high quality afternoon tea and a great venue. The staff were really great, friendly and attentive yet not at all intrusive. Very professional and clearly committed to giving guests the best experience possible. All the food items were high quality and delicious. A bit more savoury and a little less sweet would have suited us, but this was an extremely enjoyable experience. We loved the Mad Hatter room.

This was our second afternoon tea at Holme Lacy House. The first one was a little chaotic as no-one seemed to be expecting us, or a table had been set. This was a totally different experience and diametrically opposite. Table ready and waiting, staff attentive and regularly asked if we needed more tea. Food excellent. Just a lovely afternoon tea. On the strength of this we have booked another one for 3 weeks' hence.

A nightmare trying to get through to Studley Castle - on 3 different occasions was put on hold for over 20 minutes - nearly gave up!
Afternoon tea was lovely but two young inexperienced staff - had to ask several times for different things.

Great place to visit. The afternoon tea was good, however, attention to detail was lacking. The tables were left untidy long after people had left and the only time we saw the waiter was when our order was taken and delivered. There was no opportunity to order another beverage. I am guessing they were short staffed !

We had a very nice visit albeit just for an afternoon tea. The hotel must have been a very grand house and still retains it with a few modern additions all very tastefully done. The food was excellent and the service was friendly and attentive,

Littlecote House was a beautiful Tudor building, with a Roman Villa in the grounds. Ideal for a post prandial walk.
Jane, our server, was excellent and made sure that everything went well. The afternoon tea was delicious and doggy bags were needed to transport leftovers home.

We found the hotel lacked any atmosphere at all. The guests were all elderly and after having a quiz in the adjoining room, they all disappeared to their rooms. It wasn’t somewhere we would want to stay.

The hotel restaurant was busy due to a couple of coaches arriving. However, after a brief wait, we were shown through to the room where afternoon tee was being served. A lovely room and excellent service. At the end of the afternoon tea the leftovers were boxed up for us to take away and it was recommended we did an audio tour of the hotel, which we did.
