  • Bulit in the mid-19th century, the hotel is a Grade II-listed coastal landmark recognised for its distinctive central tower and domed top.
  • Access to the England Coast Path is opposite from the hotel. Follow this clifftop trail to the opposite side of the bay for the Pegwell Bay Country Park.
  • When in Ramsgate "on a sunny day, it's easy to feel a touch of la dolce vita" (The Metro). The marina—with its waterfront bars, restaurants, and cafes—and Ramsgate Beach are about five minutes' drive away.
  • Drive along the coastline to Broadstairs (10 minutes from the hotel) and the Dickens House Museum. Continue on to the white cliffs and chalk stacks of Botany Bay (25 minutes away).
  • Canterbury is 40 minutes away by car. Marvel at the cathedral or hop on a riverboat ride from Westgate Gardens.

The hotel is a great base for exploring pegwell bay and Ramsgate. Very quiet location. The bay view room made a diffference as the room is quite small. The Stanley Gray across the road does excellent food and the wonderful sea views on the balcony at Breakfast in the Pegwell hotel and the Stanley Gray at dinner enhanced out stay.

There was only one chair in our room. It could easily have accomodated two chairs for us both to sit at the window and enjoy the sea views,

Beautiful period elegance with modern amenities. Stunning views across the bay. Staff very helpful and welcoming. Breakfast good and very efficient service. Their pub across the road serves very good food and if it is warm enough, dining on the balcony overlooking the see is a great experience.

Room was a good size & clean Shower was great, large towels provided. Room was very hot, no air conditioning, but fan provided. Staff very friendly & helpful. Restaurant/breakfast food, service & outlook were great; peaceful overlooking the bay.

Toilet seat was damaged f should be replaced. Room 104 bay view obscured although we paid the supplement

Large, loud television in the breakfast room. Totally out of place in this lovely old hotel.

Local dogs barking (loud), in a house garden, at the back of the hotel, woke us up every morning at 6:00 - 6:30am and carried on barking (loud) until 7:30 - 8:00am each day, this was really annoying and spoilt our stay at this hotel.
