What a gem of a hotel, we were so lucky to find it. From the first moment of walking through the door we were made to feel so welcome. Every member of staff was excellent, nothing was too much trouble and everyone had time to chat to us and help us with suggestions.
We started with a lovely afternoon tea and prosecco in front of a warming fire.
Our room was perfect, spotlessly clean and with everything that we needed. A very comfortable bed and a lovely bathroom with an efficient shower and a bath.
Breakfast was a real treat, again with excellent service. There was a great choice of hot and cold dishes and a perfect ginger and turmeric shot to start the day.
It was nice to relax with a drink in the bar at the end of the day....just like relaxing at home!
The location is excellent with plenty of parking which is quite a luxury in Cotswold villages. Woodstock is a charming village to wander around with interesting little shops and plenty of places for an evening meal.
The bus to Oxford stops right outside the door so it is easy to enjoy a day there too.
This is a delightful, family run hotel and we can't wait to go back and enjoy the excellent hospitality again.

The reception we received was friendly and informative. The lounge area has all the ambience expected of a C15th coaching inn, with comfortable seats, settees and real fires. Our room was large, airy and modern and the bathroom the same with all necessary amenities. Breakfast is served in a large, bright dining room and offers both cold buffet items and hot food. aAl the staff we met there are very friendly and care about making your stay very good.

We had a really lovely stay. The included cream tea was delicious, the staff were so friendly and helpful and the breakfast was exceptional. The car park was a little ‘tight’ and awkward to park, but believe there was a public car park nearby if you don’t want to negotiate this.

We made good use of the pretty, well-sheltered outside courtyard for a drink and a cigarette.

The hotel is nicely situated in the centre of Woodstock. Our room was spacious and comfy, scones and Prosecco on arrival went down very well as did the cooked breakfast in the morning. A choice of restaurants in the town were recommended and the Italian we chose was excellent
