- The Shambles, one of the best-preserved Medieval streets in Europe, is 10 minutes away.
- York is famous for its chocolate-making heritage. There are plenty of local confectioners and chocolatiers in the city centre. York's Chocolate Story hosts guided tours, demonstrations, and workshops.
- Among York's many museums are the Jorvik Viking Centre, York Castle, and National Railway Museum. These are all approximately 15 minutes' walk from the hotel.
- No visit to York is complete without a walk along its historic city walls. A full circuit takes about two hours.

Very welcoming staff who were happy to help with anything that came up eg local information, calling taxi etc but without getting in the way. Superb location for everything York ahs to offer and only 5 mins from Minster on foot; lovely quiet rooms, very clean and with everything needed (some might like tea and coffee making facilities but we were happy with the water provided and the deal included Prosecco on arrival). Enjoyed breakfasts - lots of variety and including full English as well as lighter optiosn. We had a very nice time and would certain go back as well as refer to friends

Couldn’t fault it in anyway. So close to everything infact when you look out of the window at breakfast you see one of the castle walls. Lovely little touches like cream tea when we arrived, bottle of Prosecco in our room, toiletries provided. Would definitely go back again. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Perfect break away. York is wonderful
