Staff weren't very helpful when trying to redeem the voucher. I just received a confirmation that the room was booked but no further info about the other things that were included in the deal. When I followed up a week before the stay, I was told I needed to contact the spa directly to arrange a slot with them for spa and bowling and they could only provide a late slot. When we went to the spa, there were no staff there to give us a robe or towel, we had to go back upstairs to ask for these, which took a while and ate into our slot. There was no-one tidying the spa area, as people had dumped their used towels all over the loungers so there was nowhere to sit and relax. It was a nice spa but there were no staff around to maintain it. The bowling was fun though and we enjoyed the meal and views. Lovely grounds, but I wouldn't return.

This was our first visit and it certainly wont be our last.Everything was first class and special mention to all of the staff who were so helpful and polite.

The lady on reception has a very professional manner when dealing with guest( I didnt get her name but she had blue highlights in her hair).She was very helpful when checking in and specail mentions to Olivia in the restaurant and also Karen who was in the restauant and bar.Being polite and helpful goes a long way and it most definately made our trip a memorable one.See you soon Hellidon Lakes and thank you so much.

All areas of the hotel were light and spacious including the bedroom. Facilities were excellent, especially the very well equipped gym and spa. Every member of staff I spoke to was cheerful, friendly and helpful.

I’m not a golfer but the courses looked magnificent. The hotel provided me with a map detailing a walk around the perimeter of the site. A great walk with wonderful views but the map was a little sketchy and footpaths overgrown so it was easy to get lost.

We had a fabulous time, the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. The spa treatment was amazing for all three of us. I don’t know the name of the person who did our massage apart from the fact she was polish but she was amazing. We would definitely go there again. Well done to the whole team

We found the staff at reception welcoming and all the staff at dinner really helpful and the staff in charge at breakfast was very friendly and checked if we had enjoyed our food which we had.
The food in the evening was of a good standard but was main meal was look warm this could be resolved with serving it on hot plates with a warning to people with children.
I found that Womens toilets downstairs needed the walls wiping down and the same with the door and the toilet sit need tightening up as it was wonky.the cleaning issue in the cubicles could resolved by putting these jobs on a rota as it lets the downstairs of the hotel down.windows in lounge wer e dirty but would be difficult to clean as high up.
The view form dining room and bar is stunning.
The bedroom was clean and the pillows were nice and soft.the room lacked a luggage rack with which to put the suitcase on despite there being room for one.the room had no safe either these two things are essential.a small fridge would be diserable.
I think all the cleaning staff need to report faulty ares eg toilet seat and an electric heater opposite our room 101 that was halh hanging offer the wallin the corridor.
Staff all excellent and would stay again offer with travel zoo excellent .

Big hotel, plenty of car parking, lovely location with great views. Bedrooms average, did not hear any noise from other guests. Spa was our favourite part of the stay over, no under 16's allowed which is a bonus and so much more relaxing. Hotel staff very welcoming and professional. Evening meal was average, breakfast was slightly better. Lots of outside areas to sit in the nice weather, making the lovely views more enjoyable.

Situated in the middle of nowhere with beautiful views.
Our room was very comfortable with a large bed, comfortable seating, plentiful hot water, large fluffy towels and a gorgeous view from the window.
The two course meal had a very small choice but this didn’t detract from the quality and temperature of the food which was delicious!
The buffet breakfast was outstanding with great variety and replenished often meaning all the items were hot.

Hellidon Lakes is a very corporate hotel, which means it lacks atmosphere and ambience. However it is clean and bright which makes for a pleasant stay.
Staff on the whole were very welcoming, especially Sonya on reception and Vicky who was managing the breakfast area, which was very busy.
When we arrived on the Saturday afternoon there were three members of staff behind the front desk, but only Sonya welcoming and checking in guests, there was a substantial queue which was frustrating and didn’t give us a great first impression.
We would return as we felt our one nights stay was good value for money, and the sunny weather did make a big difference to the view.
It was unfortunate that it was the weekend of nationwide Tae Kwondo grading, meaning there were over 240 guests staying on the Saturday night!

We would suggest not putting photographs of high end food on your website and on the walls of the dining room, which build expectations way beyond the experience that we actually had with the food. The meal was very ordinary without the quality of food that was indicated in the photos on the wall and on your website.

Bowling was a nice option and steam rooms were relaxing and not too crowded ( mid week stay) Food was good quality and overall we were impressed with the value for money . Minor gripe was windows in the room could have done with a clean but this did not detract from a pleasant stay .

Great spa break. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The spa was very good, different saunas, steam rooms, hydro pool etc. It's situated overlooking the hills and a lovely spot. The food was excellent and we enjoyed the breakfast and the set menu dinner was delicious. We even managed a game of ten pin bowling which was fun!!

A very long wait for dinner. Table booked for 19:30, dinner arrived at 20:20, we were really hungry by then. It would have been good to be informed that the kitchen was very busy and there would be a long wait. Had to ask in the end.
