This 19th-century property is part of the Duke of Devonshire's 30,000-acre Bolton Abbey Estate, and is "set in some of North Yorkshire's most heart-tugging countryside" (The Daily Telegraph).
The quintessential North Yorkshire village of Burnsall was used as a location in the film "Calendar Girls". The hotel overlooks the Five Arch Bridge, which spans the River Wharfe.

Service slow, wrong starter delivered, didn’t have the desert I ordered, they had then run out of part of the alternative desert and throughout lunch a small dog constantly barked, after waiting 20 minutes after asking for the bill I had to go up to the bar to ask for the bill again.

We had a very nice afternoon. The hotel is very pleasant and in a beautiful setting. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating. The food was delicious. Very enjoyable and for the price it was a bargain.

The rose wine and available sparking wine by the glass choice was not to my taste. Only one choice of each which was a pity as that was the only disappointment.

The appearance & greeting was excellent. The service & table was great on arrival. However the service of food was very slow. My husband had soup & fish which was excellent. However I had prawns to start & wasn’t worth the cost I went for roast beef Sunday lunch. Which I had to ask for steak knife and even that didn’t work. The beef wasn’t edible and a few people sent their beef back too. I did receive a refund on one drink. The location & views where stunning, we may go back sometime.

Fabulous setting and extremely comfortable dining room. The staff were friendly and courteous. The food was excellent, especially the starters we selected. The wine was a little expensive but overall it was experience and I would totally buy another voucher.

Lovely Setting and Dining Room, and a good selection of nice food. The staff and service was faultless. Also, Luke even contacted us the day before to warn about a local road closure and suggest different routes which made our 5-hour round trip worthwhile.

A lovely building and service in a beautiful setting, -hot drinks in front of a roaring log fire were the perfect remedy for a cold and wet day, but the icing on the cake was the customer service which was excellent -we'll be back

We love the Fell, fabulous location and the view from the conservatory where you have the afternoon tea is stunning. Very relaxed atmosphere and the food/service never disappoints. They were even playing some of our favorite music ! This was our third visit for afternoon tea and we will definitely be returning!

I purchased two vouchers and took my sister in law and brother in law 87 and 85 we celebrated my sister in law’s birthday the staff were amazing went above and beyond. Food delicious dining room and views outstanding we have had afternoon tea in a number of venues including the Savoy in London but this experience exceeded all our expectations. Great sandwiches special attention for vegetarian. Mini Yorkshire pudding with carrot/veg. Whilst meat eaters had roast beef and rabbit sausage rolls delicious. Warm scones great strawberry jam and cream. The cakes fantastic all made n the premises. Special birthday plate with Happy Birthday in chocolate and mini Victoria sponge my sister in law was over the moon delighted. Amazing

Dogs in the restaurant although were well behaved. Would have preferred if there had been separate areas for dinners with dogs and without. Our dogs have always stayed in the car whilst we dined at night.
