  • The Fell Hotel is part of the Duke of Devonshire's 30,000-acre Bolton Abbey Estate. The property is in a "heart-tugging" location with "restful" guestrooms (The Daily Telegraph).
  • The quintessential North Yorkshire village of Burnsall was used as a location in the film "Calendar Girls". The hotel overlooks the Five Arch Bridge, which spans the River Wharfe.
  • Bolton Abbey is less than 20 minutes' drive from the hotel. It's home to the ruins of a 12th-century priory church. Walk through the Valley of Desolation and past Posforth Gill Falls for views from Simon's Seat.
  • Brimham Rocks, a National Trust site in the Nidderdale Natural Landscape, is around 30 minutes' drive. Or you could drive to the market town of Pateley Bridge and walk from there. The scenic route takes around 90 minutes.

Lovely location, nice hotel, good breakfast, dinner also very nice and staff were lovely. Our dog was welcomed and loved the doggy 4-poster bed!

The location was perfect for outdoor pursuits like walking and cycling. There was some confusion about the PIN code that I had misplaced and I to ring Travelzoo to have it re-sent. The help from Travelzoo was immediate. Tge staff were warm and helpful.

The receptionist on our arrival was quite abrupt and rather patronizing on our arrival ( when I couldn’t find our PIN number) this made me feel flustered and rather unwelcome. Her attitude did improve when I asked to be given more time to find the information, but sadly, my very first impression on checking -in was not the best.

Loved it, a very relaxed chilled stay. All staff we came across were re brilliant, friendly but very professional. Food excellent both evening meal and breakfast, room perfect. Fabulous walking from the door. 10/10. Hit the mark spot on.
