"Lovely hotel directly overlooking the sea. Room really comfortable and everywhere very clean. Good creative food served properly hot. Staff all really friendly & helpful. Enjoyed our stay very much."
Overlooking Bull Bay, The Trecastell Hotel sits on the north coast of Anglesey. Sea views can be admired from just about anywhere in the hotel.
The hotel's restaurant serves hearty, seasonal dishes. The bar offers a curated selection of craft beer, wine, and cocktails.
The hotel is about a 5-minute drive from Amlwch and its port. The town is a gateway to the Anglesey Coastal Path—a 130-mile loop around the island.
A few miles south of the hotel, you'll find Parys Mountain. Once a 17th-century copper mine, the unique and colourful landscape now attracts ramblers.
Over on the west coast, about a 30-minute drive away, is Holyhead. The wider area is home to South Stack Lighthouse, perched on the cliffs of Ynys Lawd. Climb the nearby Holyhead Mountain, the highest point in Anglesey, for panoramic views.

We were given room7 and it was the smallest room we have ever stayed. there were twin beds but the room was so small it was difficult to comfortably move around.

A good base for exploring Anglesey. Staff were friendly and breakfast was good. The room was a little tired looking but had a lovely sea view. Shower was ok but not much power. Overall it was good value for money.

Booked a twin room and upgraded, when we arrived it was a double bed and were told the original bed had broken and there was nothing they could do and no compensation offered even when I asked for some. Really badly handled customer service.

John was very prompt with responding to the booking request.
The shower was beautifully finished and the laundry was home laundered which was softer than the chain hotels..
Only one bedside lamp though for a double room booking which was inconvenient if you both want to read or wake up at different times during the night and try not to disturb your partner.

My husband does not enjoy fish and there appeared to be a limited choice - burger or steak/ vegetarian option.
No lamb when Wales is famed for it.
I think the menu my husband had downloaded from the website must have been a week or so out of date eg I had been looking forward to Whitebait as a starter but it wasn't on the menu.
The portions were a good size.
Lovely to wake up overlooking the sea and I managed to take some lovely photos of the sunrise by leaning out of the second floor window (in my pyjamas) :))

We really enjoyed our time at the hotel.
The thing that will remain with us was how good the food was, we ate there both nights and the food was excellent.
Also the breakfast had everything that would set you up for the day. Staff were all very pleasant and we were looked after well ,
Our 2 night stay was fabulous, we loved Angelsey .

This is our second visit to the Trecastell Hotel. We enjoyed it so much last year, that as soon as we saw the Travelzoo deal reappear, we booked again. The location in Bull Bay is fabulous. Our room (14) on the second floor has panoramic views out to sea all across the bay. The room itself is lovely, ample size with plenty of storage space, king size bed, huge smart TV, tea/coffee making facilities, etc. The en suite is quite large with a great shower. Everywhere in the room, and throughout the hotel is well presented and spotlessly clean. The staff are absolutely brilliant. Whilst going about their duties, they are friendly, helpful, and always welcoming. The bar area is nice with a good choice of beers, wines, and spirits. The restaurant has lovely views out at the front. We ate there on both nights, and the nice selection of foods was very good. Service again was excellent. We can’t wait for another deal to come along…we will be booking.

The manager has obviously done a fantastic job of bringing The Trecastell Hotel up to the standard it is today. It is a very welcoming facility in a location to die for. It’s always a treat to stay here, and we always leave with great memories.

We were in a very noisy room above the kitchen. It was on the top floor up two flights of stairs. The room was clean with a refurbished bathroom. Unfortunately the shower was very poor in that the water flow was extremely slow. The bed was very uncomfortable made so by a very soft mattress. Breakfast was buffet style and not as good as the evening food having been pre cooked and kept warm

Initially we were allocated a room on the top floor. There are problems with the plumbing in that the cistern took ages and ages to refill after flushing the toilet….and I mean ages. Half an hour later it was still filing up! We reported this and a handy man took a look at it and said it was faulty but the manager was out at that time. When he returned he was happy to offer us another room on the floor below. Apparently no one had complained about this before. Both rooms were small but adequate.

The food is excellent and the restaurant overlooking the sea is magical. My only comment is that there wasn’t a lot of choice for someone who doesn’t like garlic!

Pleasant stay. The room was quite small and only had a double bed. Bathroom was lovely and looked newly decorated. The room had everything we needed for a short stay. The view from the window was good as we like a sea view.
Breakfast was overcooked but staff very accommodating.
Everyone was very friendly and were working hard to ensure our stay was comfortable.

Very hardworking staff. It is a bit isolated especially if you don’t want to drive.
I really hope they can make this into a successful and viable hotel.
