More Reasons to Go
- This hotel is part of a Grade II-listed Georgian house. It's newly refurbished restaurant, Goodwins 1757, serves modern British cuisine in a relaxed setting, overlooking the gorge.
- The 1779 Iron Bridge is a 10-minute stroll away. Head through the hotel’s landscaped gardens and take the footpath beside the River Severn. Along the way, discover independent shops, the antique centre, cafes, and peaceful riverside spots.
- Ironbridge encompasses 10 museums, 35 listed buildings, and sites of historic interest. Together they trace the story of the Industrial Revolution and give an insight into Victorian life.
- The northern part of the Shropshire Hills National Landscape is around 15 minutes' drive away. The Wrekin offers impressive views and was the site of an Iron Age hill fort.
- For day trips further afield, Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth, and Ludlow are within 45 minutes’ drive of the hotel. Discover Shrewsbury’s cobbled streets, independent boutiques, and Tudor centre. Hitch a ride on Bridgnorth’s historic cliff railway and explore its High and Low Towns. Or head to Ludlow, described by poet John Betjeman as "probably the loveliest town in England".
- Stuck for Christmas gift ideas? Give a dining, spa, activity, theatre, or hotel experience, and create a memory.

Lovely location and lovely hotel. Staff were so friendly and helpful, food was amazing.
Room was a lovely size, the only down point was the shower, electric one with absolutely no power to it and went hot and cold randomly.

Much better than we anticipated. We had a lovely break in December - the hotel was a bit cold in public places and some complained that their rooms were cold - ours wasn't. Room was very spacious, mattress a bit too soft and squishy and quality of linen not up to our standards. The restaurant was brilliant - the food outstanding, both for breakfast and dinner. So much so that we ate for a 2nd time in the restaurant. A lovely break for us both
