- If you're in the mood for some more sightseeing after your tour, the property is in a great spot for it. Big Ben, Downing Street, and Trafalgar Square are all within 10 minutes' walk.
- Stuck for Christmas gift ideas? Give a dining, spa, activity, theatre, or hotel experience, and create a memory.

We were welcomed at the door and guided into the parlour then the experience really started, the food selection was themed and delicious, everything was explained by the attentive waitresses. The tour was interesting but there wasn’t a great deal to see what we saw was interesting .

The hotel is great with lots of character, and the tour was interesting.
We were disappointed in the afternoon tea, as it was not a ‘traditional’ one. Assorted savouries-no sandwiches, only one scone and a cinnamon pastry. We were not keen on the cakes either, as they were too rich for us, but they were beautifully presented.
We stayed for three hours and were not hurried at all.The service was excellent.
We would go back to the hotel for a drink but not for afternoon tea.

This was probably the best afternoon tea we have had. The manner of presentation of the different elements was pure style and it was lovely to have warm savoury food. Aveline was an attentive waitress and her suggestion that we eat the warm elements of the tea, then undertake the tour and return to complete the tea was excellent advice and made the experience more special. The guide who gave the tour was extremely knowledgeable, clearly loved his job and was happy to answer questions.

The building and architecture are amazing, the hotel was spotlessly clean and all staff were friendly and welcoming

Would have liked a more detailed tour of the building with more history, but really enjoyed. Was surprised to have £15 service charge added! It was pointed out that it was optional.

Went for the Tour and afternoon tea. Truly fantastic if brief tour and the Tea was exceptional. Tea was deceptive. Started small and became bigger as we ate through the 3 courses.

A lovely historical building in a good location for a walk around London afterward, and love the way they have incorporated the history into the décor and menus. Very friendly and helpful staff. They had a good selection of teas and the food was tasty. It also included a warm cinnamon roll and scone, instead of the usual two scones, which was a lovely surprise, but each course was slow to come out. The tour was interesting too and they explained the stories behind the décor.
BUT ...
We missed our train (I know, rookie mistake) so I called to explain and let them know we were on our way. The lady said she would pass on the message - she didn't! When we arrived, they said they had given away our table because they thought we weren't coming and hadn't received our message. Thankfully, we only had to wait a short time for someone to leave and a table to be available.
It was a crime themed menu so instead of the usual sandwiches, we got savouries which as mentioned were tasty, but very small and more like appetisers so weren’t very filling - the sweets were bigger than the savouries. We did ask if we could get a couple more and they did bring us something.
This was a little treat for my birthday and usually with an afternoon tea we go hungry and leave full, but this time we went to a restaurant afterwards!
