Smith & Wollensky opened in New York in 1977. The London branch was the first outside the US.
It uses USDA Prime, dry-aged steaks, alongside locally sourced ingredients from the UK.
The steakhouse is regularly used as a filming location and is featured in "The Crown". You'll also see it in "Fleabag", "McMafia", and the Steve Coogan film "Stan and Ollie".

Food was good. There is a strong smell of truffle in the restaurant which is too strong and the tap water was served warm. Smaller cheaper places often have water pre chilled in the fridge. These are the things that require improvement.

I went with a friend for the start of our 60th celebrations. From walking in the staff were first class. Friendly, attentive, informative but in an amazingly discreet manner. The cocktails were excellent and my friend said it was the best steak she had ever had!!! I'd recommend the Prosecco too. The actual restaurant was immaculately clean and crisp yet totally intimate. Will definitely be returning with my husband.

The staff were previously advised of dietary requirements and my disabilities. The staff accommodated these with no questions asked and tweaked the menu to suit my requirements. Delicious steak and a massive portion of fries. Started with the included cocktail which was very refreshing and finished off with a lovely slice of carrot cake. The staff were all friendly and attentive. I have been to this restaurant a couple of times using Travel Zoo vouchers and it’s great value. Would definitely recommend!

We are regulars at S and W and always enjoy the experience. My wife is presently a wheelchair user. The staff respond well to our requests. Firstly our preference for a table is met. Secondly, at our request, they let us sort out my wife transferring from her wheelchair to the restaurant's bench seating. My wife prefers that we do this. It's "not making a big fuss" or "not becoming a spectacle ". The service is excellent, efficient but not intrusive. The food was delicious. The addition of "cake " to the Travelzoo deal was greatly appreciated. The carrot cake was really tasty and wonderfully presented. Another great meal.

It was out 55th wedding anniversary. The meal was excellent as was the service. We were presented with a little cake at the end. Very sweet. Also one if the male attendants was very kind and took us to the traffic lights outside & showed us the way to Covent Garden tube as we don’t live in London. Very helpful and so kind.
