Smith & Wollensky opened in New York in 1977. The London branch was the first outside the US.
It uses USDA Prime, dry-aged steaks, alongside locally sourced ingredients from the UK.
The steakhouse is regularly used as a filming location and is featured in "The Crown". You'll also see it in "Fleabag", "McMafia", and the Steve Coogan film "Stan and Ollie".

It was out 55th wedding anniversary. The meal was excellent as was the service. We were presented with a little cake at the end. Very sweet. Also one if the male attendants was very kind and took us to the traffic lights outside & showed us the way to Covent Garden tube as we don’t live in London. Very helpful and so kind.

Quiet for lunch on a Friday. Waiter was more interested in upselling. Told us there could be a 45 minute wait for the meal. Really there were only 6 people in the dining room.

Initially I was not impressed! We were seated and a waitress came to our table. I mentioned we were with Travelzoo deal. She then dissappeared and no-one came to the table! I complained and then it all changed. The food was excellent, steak cooked perfectly. Nice restaurant but very noisy!. After my grumble the staff coukd not have been more accomodating. I would recommend this restaurant.

The steak upgrade was fantastic. A slight issue with tickets initially in order to allocate seats.

S &W servers didn’t make it clear all we’d receive was steak on our plate, so good job I asked them had time to order fries and mushrooms. The meal was fantastic.
The Kit Kat club isn’t ideal for disabled people unless you’re seated on the ground level.

As soon as we crossed the threshold of Smith and Wollensky we were made welcome. The decor and comfort of the restaurant is superlative and the waiting staff super efficient. As to the food? The best meal I have had in ages. I can’t wait to return.
Cabaret is very stylish and brilliantly acted but perhaps I should only go to “happy” theatre as I audibly gasped when the swastika armband was revealed and was left troubled by the comparisons to today.

We’d arrived quite early for our booking, but it wasn’t a problem. We were seated very quickly and were seen by their very attentive staff.
The food was very very nice, and the cocktail was very good. Not a fan of gin, but you really couldn’t taste it in the cocktail.
The ceaser salad that came with the steak was really nice. I was full (could not finish all the fries that came with the steak), but I still managed to eat the ceaser salad. And the slice of carrot cake was just the right size.
It was all fantastic!

I could only see one ladies toilet on the restaurant floor, so that was strange. Good job it wasn’t busy, so no queue! The loo did smell nice though with their toiletries.

They were so accommodating to allow us to extend our voucher. You never feel that they are dismissing you because you're on an offer. The staff are really nice and very efficient too. The food is divine and the steak melted in our mouths. It was very busy, which with the low ceiling, made it slightly noisy but we all had a fantastic evening.

Fabulous. Food delicious, staff great although bottle of wine starts and £40 and extras like mushrooms or spinach £10 per portion, puddings £9.50 although 4 of us had the whole Chocolate cake at £24, bargain and lovely.
