Smith & Wollensky opened in New York in 1977. The London branch was the first outside the US.
It uses USDA Prime, dry-aged steaks, alongside locally sourced ingredients from the UK.
The steakhouse is regularly used as a filming location and is featured in "The Crown". You'll also see it in "Fleabag", "McMafia", and the Steve Coogan film "Stan and Ollie".

An easy walk from Charing X station. Beautiful decor pre-War style, delightful staff. We took the £59 for 2 option and enjoyed a pleasant cocktail (one alcoholic, one not) an excellent steak and shared very good fries and a reasonable, though small, salad, followed by a nice, but rather too heavy, slice of carrot cake.

It would be better if they would include the sauce for steak as well, they should not charge £5 for a little bit of sauce. £5 is nothing, but does not give a good feeling. It is like you buy fish, and they charge you for salt and vinegar.

Our booking was at noon on Saturday. The host and staff were friendly and welcoming, and we received just the right level of attention throughout our meal.
The restaurant is spacious, clean, and features beautiful Art Deco décor. The steak was excellent, and the fries were perfectly crispy with a generous portion size.
The cocktails weren't quite to my taste, although my husband enjoyed his. The carrot cake was delicious, and we appreciated that it was served as a thin slice—it was the perfect amount to finish the meal.
Overall, the food, service, and ambience were excellent, and the Travelzoo voucher offered outstanding value for money.

Lovely staff, from the moment I entered the door, I did tell them over the phone it was my birthday. They wished me Happy Birthday on arrival, and presented a little happy birthday desert with a candle. I did ask for anything so it was such a beautiful surprise.
