Excellent from the moment we arrived. Staff were welcoming and helpful. The room looked very nice. The food was delicious. One comment is the cod and venison dishes were only luke warm. I would have preferred the food to be hotter. Each course was delicious. The wines complimented the food nicely. Paul Askew interview. Perhaps use a microphone next time. It was difficult to hear him. Overall a very pleasant experience.

Too crowded. Too much like a wedding reception and not an exclusive event. Reception poor like a wedding reception find your own place being handed a glass of wine before seated. Food already on the table with no introduction as to what to do. Service like a canteen. Visited Moor Hall barn previous week were service was exceptional and with a bottle of wine was actually better value. Quality of food was vgood but again the dessert came with no explanation. The small details matter and unfortunately they were overlooked

A great first experience at this restaurant and would definitely go again.
Our only minor feeling was that the coffee we ordered in the cellar after the event wasn't as brilliant as everything else..just a picky thing

First experience of staff was excellent as it was through the event. Great wine choice and wonderful to be able to talk to the supplier. Food was great and it was a thrill to be able to talk to chef Paul afterwards. We liked being on a table with people we hadn't met instead of just sitting as a couple as it was lovely sharing the experience with them. Overall a great afternoon and the weather was gorgeous. Great to show how good Liverpool's food scene is.

It's a wonderful historic building which Paul and his team have restored with great respect. It has atmosphere and history. Paul Askew has been a great ambassador for the city and has lifted the food scene to heights we never thought possible.
An excellent lunch in a fabulous restaurant, hosted by Travelzoo. The Owner, Paul Askew, was also present and it was really good to have him speak with everyone in attendance

Not especially.

I would have appreciated some information on the way the food had been prepared and cooked prior to the meal, which might have prevented me from returning most of my Duck (I was not alone in this) under the impression that it was under cooked, as I don't like meat done pink/rare.
Another aspect was, I thought the dining room was too noisy due to high ceilings and hard surfaces, with no soft fabrics to absorb the sounds. I found conversation difficult.

The welcome wasn’t very well organised by Travelzoo. We were told not to arrive before 12:30 and, when we did arrive on time, there were no seats available for us! On arrival we were told to remember our table number (1) as everyone would be going in table order. There was just a mass exodus all at the same time with no information.
The amusement bouche and starter were beautiful as was the accompanying wines. A lot of people left quite a bit of the duck from the main course as it was very sinewy and tough to eat. The dessert was lovely though. Between the main and dessert at the q&a session both the Travelzoo host and Paul Askew kept my bing the mic too low so it wasn’t always easy to hear especially as we were sat the closest to the kitchen which was very noisy with moving crockery and cutlery. I have been to the restaurant before and will return again but not for an event like this.
