Since opening at the end of last year, Barnacle has been listed as one of the best restaurants in Liverpool. CN Traveller called it a "hidden gem" with "stylish dishes that champion local producers", The Daily Telegraph said there's "high hopes for its success". Run by father-son duo Paul—owner of nearby Art School restaurant—and Harry Askew, the restaurant occupies a Grade II-listed building in the Georgian Quarter. Chef Paul Askew, who opened the restaurant with son Harry, competed for the North West on series 12 of "The Great British Menu". His main course scored a perfect 10. You may also recognise him from "Saturday Kitchen", "Sunday Brunch", "Celebrity MasterChef", and "Friday Night Fakeaway".
Paul is well known in Liverpool for championing regional produce, and dishes follow a field-to-fork ethos.
