A 17th-century former coaching inn, the hotel is a Lakeland landmark. It sits on the banks of the River Leven. It's five minutes' drive from Lake Windermere and less than 20 minutes' drive from Bowness-on-Windermere.
The decor is "exuberantly modern" (The Daily Telegraph). Floral wallpaper and brightly upholstered sofas combined with low-beamed ceilings and oak panelling give it a stylish feel.
The 5-bubble Holte Spa features the Lake District's first spa garden. It has an outdoor Finnish sauna, naturally filtered pools, cold plunge, hydrotherapy pool, and hot and cold experience showers.
