Would have been 5star but for the 30 minute wait for the Afternoon Tea with out any explanation to why we were not the only table in this position. The table we were sitting at was close to the door out to the terrace and had to get up and close the door that was left open by inconsiderate staff and other guests. On the plus side the afternoon tea was amazing.

Great experience and great value for money. The wine tasting was generous as was the delicious ploughman’s lunch. It is a beautiful venue in a beautiful setting and well worth a visit.

Staff were very good and accommodating. We arrived 45 mins late due to a flat tyre. Did inform them and on arrival, they still allowed us to join the tasting (which had just started) and then to enjoy the lunch.

We had a wonderful day at Balfour Winery. Staff were very knowledgeable and very friendly and accommodating. We got the train to Marden station and cycled from there to the winery with ease. It was great value for money.

The winery is easy to get to by bicycle. It took us approximately 15 minutes and it was a very pleasant route. We did the beautiful walk through the ancient woods as mapped out by the winery itself.

We enjoyed our tea very much . Preseco was very nice. We thought the wines were expensive. We live near Debbie’s Dorking which we visit often and purchase there wines another English winery not so expensive but just as nice .

The vineyard tour, wine tasting and sharing platter for lunch were all very good. The tour is quite short, which was welcome on a very cold day; the wine tasting was excellent, with a very good tutor (Charlie) and generous portions of the three wines. The sharing platter for lunch was exceptional, with an excellent variety of thigns to eat and delicios bread.

For the Travelzoo price of £20 per person, this was exceptional value, and I'd certainly do it again for that price. The actual price of £60 per person though is, I feel, not good value for money.

Tour, wine tasting and food were all excellent. The service for getting the food was extremely slow and pretty haphazard. People who came in for lunch 20 mins after we finished the tour got their food before us. Not quite sure why it was so poor as we didn't even have to choose the food as it was a chefs choice platter. Drinks arrived quickly. Food didn't. Definitely a training issue for the staff.

It would have been useful from Travelzoo to have been sent the voucher number again just before our trip, as we had trouble finding it from Septembers booking, and Balfours wanted the voucher number so they got paid. We did manage to find it at lunchtime, but would have been good to have had a reminder of the voucher We had 4 or 5 reminders from Balfours that we were booked on the trip, but nothing from Travelzoo.

The offer was advertised as a tour/tasting/platter for 2 that normally cost £120, but was £40 for Travelzoo members. We feel that we actually got a reduced tour, reduced tasting and reduced food platter, compared to the full price one. In short, it was an experience specifically tailored to the price that we paid, rather than the normal offering at a discounted price. If you are going to offer something at a supposedly discounted price, then the actual offering should not be watered down to meet the lower price point.
