The gardens are home to an abundance of wildlife, including wallabies, whose colony has been there since 1889. You could spot deer, foxes, rabbits, grey squirrels, badgers, weasels, stoats, shrews, and voles too.
There is also a sculpture park with an outdoor exhibition trail and for younger visitors, a doll's house museum and a play park. This features a 5-metre multi-level champion tree and slide, balancing beams, and many swings.

Absolutely beautiful landscaped gardens around lakes. Saw the Wallabys and 2 Joeys in their mum's pouches, which I've never witnessed before. Many trees in bud but also many beautiful colours already out.

Great soup and roll in coffee shop. There was also a superb children's play area which we didn't use. The Doll's House barn is more like a fascinating model village, with so much to see. A great history lesson.

We went in the middle of winter on a sunny day, the gardens were obviously not at their best but still lovely to see. The lakes just added that extra something with the reflections of the trees in the water. The gardens were extensive and quiet, no traffic noises and we could hear the birds . We will definitely go back in the better weather.

We have not been here for some years, but found the experience to be an excellent day out, especially at this time of the year (Autumn) as the colours were wonderful and cheaper than the flight to New England!

Do not leave without viewing the Dolls Houses - they are fantastic!
Lovely place to visit - the autumn colours were stunning. Would definitely return - perhaps in the spring. We had a wheelchair with us and it wasn't easy to wheel it along some of the paths, which were quite steep - if we had done our research beforehand we would have got the shuttle to get around.

Options are limited for those with mobility issues, wear sturdy but comfortable shoes, don’t carry too much. Some terrain is steep and uneven.

The Dolls House displays are amazing, the attention to detail is incredible.
The cafe is lovely, but their cake fridge had broken down that day, shame....
