Enjoyed our first wine tour this week to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. Unfortunately it rained but apart from the weather we really enjoyed the tour and the sharing platter.

It would have been useful from Travelzoo to have been sent the voucher number again just before our trip, as we had trouble finding it from Septembers booking, and Balfours wanted the voucher number so they got paid. We did manage to find it at lunchtime, but would have been good to have had a reminder of the voucher We had 4 or 5 reminders from Balfours that we were booked on the trip, but nothing from Travelzoo.

The offer was advertised as a tour/tasting/platter for 2 that normally cost £120, but was £40 for Travelzoo members. We feel that we actually got a reduced tour, reduced tasting and reduced food platter, compared to the full price one. In short, it was an experience specifically tailored to the price that we paid, rather than the normal offering at a discounted price. If you are going to offer something at a supposedly discounted price, then the actual offering should not be watered down to meet the lower price point.

We had an incredibly knowledgeable guide, Siobhan, who took us on a short tour, answering a number of questions, and then conducted our wine tasting. The sharing platter that we had afterwards was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and will be back.
