Albert cottage is an historic building. A very indulgent weekend"
Albert Cottage is a country house hotel with a boutique feel. Original Victorian tiled floors, coving and wood panels, and fireplaces create an atmosphere of period elegance.
The restaurant and bar has views of the garden. It is a fitting spot to indulge in Victorian afternoon tea (supplement applies).
The property is a stone's throw from Osborne House. Walk through opulent state rooms, family suites, and "glorious gardens" (Country Living).
The scenic 68-mile Isle of Wight coastal path covers the entire circumference of the island. The section of the path that connects East Cowes and Ryde is a short stroll from the hotel.
*Ferry crossing reservations are made through Albert Cottage. Car ferry crossing on both Red Funnel and Wightlink is for a standard car (up to 5 metres in length and 2.4 metres in height). In the event of ferry crossing cancellations, contact the hotel to secure alternative ferry crossing dates. Your voucher will be redeemed for the original booking date, but the hotel will honour the voucher up to 12 months from the original booking date at no extra charge.

Lovely friendly hotel and staff. Great breakfast with lots of choice, even for vegetarians. Rooms were comfy and had a large bathroom, everything was clean although mattress and pillows could do with upgrade but I think the owner is gradually working through the hotel. The bar area was beautifully decorated and the cocktails were delicious, as was dinner. The garden patio was very inviting and oin the love,y weather we had we were very happy to spend lots of time out there. So close to Osbourne House and Cowes.

High class hotel set in lovely grounds in easy reach of Cowes and in walking distance of Osborne House, The room was spacious, well appointed and very comfortable. The food both dinner and breakfast was first rate. The icing on the cake at this hotel though were the staff who were amazing. A really high quality of efficient and friendly service. Nothing was too much trouble and they made the trip a memorable one.

We couldn’t fault nothing. Everything at Albert Cottage was amazing. The staff were so attentive, happy and accommodating. The hotel room and En-suite was huge with a tub bath and a shower big enough for 4! The hotel food was out of this world such quality. The grounds was fabulous too. Can’t wait to go back!

Staff seemed not to know about the cocktail part of our booking. Then came up with the menu and we were whisked off to the restaurant before we could enjoy them. Also meaning we were rushed with our dinner choices.
On the second morning the pastries were very well done. They had no marmalade. The toast took about 15 mins to appear.
We weren’t even asked if we’d had a good time while we were there.
Shame that the staff were not as good as the hotel itself.

Room was good although we had paid a supplement for ours.
Restaurant in annexe and bar was without fault, very pleasant staff and good food.

Tea/coffee/sugar supplies in our room had gone wet and mouldy, obviously hadn’t been checked for few weeks. Phoned reception after 7am, no answer. Had to dress to go downstairs to find staff.
Breakfast on second day there was no yogurt, marmalade. I overheard 3 other guests ask for yogurt.
Breakfast room was dark, shame they could not use the empty day lounge which was light and views of garden. Never saw anyone use this room at all.
I phoned the hotel about 9pm Sunday evening as we were running late getting back and no reply. Left message for callback, none received.
I wonder if we had had an emergency, how we could have contacted reception at any time.

Check in was warm and friendly and our room was delightful and very comfortable, with everything we needed for our stay. The biscuits made by the hotel chef, were a delicious addition. Dinner on the first night was really well cooked and we were very well looked after, especially by Luke who gave us lots of added information on places to go. We didn’t feel rushed at all - everything was beautifully done and very relaxed. Breakfast both mornings was delicious.

Easy to find as just up the road from East Cowes ferry terminal. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The room was beautifully decorated a nice size, and had plenty of storage for clothes. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and has an adjacent bar with the option of seating outside in better weather. The menu is not extensive, but still gives plenty of choice with the addition of any special dishes. The food was beautifully cooked and presented. Breakfast caters for all tastes. A house steeped in history beautifully decorated in keeping with its heritage.

Great atmosphere and friendly attentive staff. The food is good although not outstanding and the wine list very fairly priced. We stayed in room 1 (Empress) which is very well proportioned and very quiet.
Overall the break was excellent value and was very restful. I can't help thinking though that with a little more attention to detail and a few tweaks Albert Cottage could be improved upon giving a higher end guest experience.

We had a nice 3 night stay. The room was a good size, although perhaps the furnishings a little tired. The breakfasts were very good and we had a nice meal there on our first evening. There is a nice bar area and outside seating in the garden to relax in. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming.
Other Comments
We had a room that was to the front of the hotel, and we could hear the road noise (as the windows are only single glazed). we presume the rooms at the back would be quieter. We also found the bed to be very firm!
