The staff were delightful .. welcoming and friendly. My therapist gave an excellent and relaxing frangipani foot treatment.

The area around the pool for relaxation was ridicuously small with limited seating available. Only 2 loungers and 2 bistro tables and chairs. It is a members gym and at times pool was rather overcrowded. My biggest disappointment was the afternoon tea. Scones not served with clotted cream, rather tasted and looked like aerosol cream.

The lounge area to have coffee and lunch is in the main hotel. We were sat in bath robes with a conference group. The pool area was very busy with members of the club and a children's group. The actual treatments were very good but the relaxation experience was a huge disappointment, as was the lunch orovided.

A friend and I decided to take up this offer, to treat ourselves and weren't disappointed. She had a head, neck and shoulder massage and I had a wonderful facial (by Whitney).

Staff in the Leisure Centre, Spa and Bar, were all very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. Unfortunately, the Steam Room was out of action (had been for 2 weeks I believe) and some of the swimming pool was reserved for children's swimming lessons. Only 2 sun loungers to relax on, in the pool area. The Jacuzzi was lovely and warm. I enjoyed the Sauna.

Brilliant express facial from Gemma. Lovely temperature in the pool area, good pool and nice hot sauna. Afternoon tea was average and the toilet bin in the changing rooms smelled terrible.

Afternoon tea took over half an hour to arrive despite the member of staff saying it would be ready “at anytime”.

This was booked as a treat for my 65th birthday. I mentioned this fact on the booking but at no time did any member of staff notice that it was my birthday. I didn't expect any freebies but just an acknowledgement 'Oh, it's your birthday today, Happy birthday ' would've been nice. The form I filled in prior to accessing to the spa and treatment room detailing date of birth etc obviously wasn't read! Overall the experience was good but the personal touch would've made it even better.

Food was good, but the hotel seemed understaffed and the service was glacial. This spoiled our included meal. There is an excellent Toby Carvery next door.
