Made very welcome on our second visit. Unfortunately, we were the only customers at the time, but this meant that the manager spent time chatting with us. The food was tasty and well presented.

We were there on a Tuesday lunchtime and had excellent service from the very pleasant maitre d'. The food was absolutely delicious and included a free amuse-bouche each, with one tailored for a gluten-free diet. Each course was imaginatively created, attractively presented and beautifully cooked: the menu descriptions understate the sophistication of the dishes we had. It was slightly disappointing that there was only one gluten-free option for dessert on the Signature lunchtime menu, but it turned out to be an excellent creme caramel, enhanced by some fresh orange pieces.

It was surprisingly quiet when we were there - a good time for a peaceful meal. Apparently, it gets busy at the weekends. The restaurant was comfortable, and the decor pleasantly interesting. We both felt the menu was very reasonably priced for the quality, and we plan to return.

Although the food was excellent; it was not what I expected. I visit France very often, my brother moved to France in February 2000. Also, the waiter apologised when we spoke French; he admitted he did not speak French. REGRADING YOUR QUESTION "Would you go back ?" the true answer is MAYBE

Staff excellent. Gave us both a glass of prosecco on the house as it was our anniversary. Duck cooked to perfection.

Flavours just weren't there. Cheese and spinach souffle could have been anything, certainly not cheese. Duck was supposed to be served with orange sauce but it was just a heavy. Vanilla creme brulee lacked and vanilla and should have come with a raspberry sorbet but came with a little pat of icecream.

For our original booking in October we turned up on time and found the restaurant closed. Not great for my wife's birthday treat. They were open yesterday and we had a nice meal with a great welcome and an excellent meal (we only had two course, though). Srvice was on the slow side since there was only the one waiter and, it appears, one chef and a fairly full retaurant. But we weren't in a hurry.

Very pleasant with an excellent menu. The food portions were quite small and there was the odd missing item compared to the menu e.g. quail egg from the duck & pork pate starter, but overall a good experience.

What a treat! The -lace is warm and welcoming, with well laid tables and great background music. The waitress was friendly and helpful, showing us what was on the menu. The food - it was exceptional. This was our first visit so we didn’t know what to expect but the food was excellent. Well presented, very tasty and decent portions. We will be returning and would recommend this restaurant wholeheartedly.

Portion sizes. I am familiar with nouvelle cuisine but this was was minuscule cuisine. My wife and I both had the scallops with pork belly. Sounds great on the menu but a tiny portion arrived with 2 scallops and a 1 sq inch piece of pork belly. My slow-roasted lambshank turned out to be a very thin lamb chop, all bone, with maybe 1 small mouthful of meat. My wife's duck was adequate, but only a half a potato came with it.
The wine we ordered was poor quality, very weak and came to £8 for a small 175ml glass. We will not be buying any more Travelzoo deals as we felt very much third rate. Would prefer to either stay home or just choose 1 dish from regular menu. In fact, we were still hungry after the meal, so went down the road for scampi and chips and a decent glass of wine.
