The food was delicious and a very high standard.

Not enough electric points in the room. Two sockets and five electric plugs so extension cable needed or new socket.

The Hotel bedrooms has a feeling of faded opulence which have a feeling of better days whilst trying to maintain an element of grandeur
The service & quality of the food were good but the silent atmosphere & stark lighting left it alittle cold… background music would have made it feel better so you didn’t feel you had to whisper
7/10

The reception staff were lovely and tried very hard to make our stay better but couldn’t address the faults.

The room was very tired. There was no fridge, the TV didn’t
Work. We asked for bottled water and they’d got none. Milk for coffee went off and format curtains didn’t keep light out.

The ground floor of the hotel, dining room, sitting area, bar etc, all extremely pleasant. Our bedroom was spacious but very dated and full of old brown furniture. Bathroom was worse still. The bath had a broken tap and the top of the pedal bin had broken off. We reported these issues but nothing was done. There was nowhere to put a wash bag or your toiletries. There was a little narrow shelf above the sink but that was all. The bathroom had no windows and the lighting was appalling. On our second day I had to buy a magnifying mirror so that I could pu on my make up.The sink took forever to empty. I believe they are planning refurbishment of the bedrooms. They certainly need it.

A quaint hotel needing some love, luckily new owner committed to giving it TLC and already made great improvements. The grounds and main areas undergone updates. Bedrooms next. The food was amazing! Bar prices very reasonable given its a hotel with discount early evening a bonus!

The staff are a credit to the hotel. I think they work incredibly hard as a team and help in other areas when needed. A shout out to Will in particular who made our stay even more special, genuinely lovely person who the new owner should be very glad he's there. Top man!

Dinner on the first night was good with a very good Polish head waiter. On the second day, at breakfast. the toast was burnt, the bowls of prunes and fruit salad were uncovered with flies crawling in them. On the following morning, there was no bacon available. The bed was comfortable but we had to sleep with our valuables under the pillow as there was no window to open, only a door to the balcony which had stairs down to the garden. My husband has previously reported problems with communication when booking, including being told he had to supply our PIN number even though Travelzoo had said not to do so until arrival.

Lounge area was nice and relaxed, bar had a good selection of refreshments, and some staff were excellent but others just appeared distracted (breakfast staff).
Other Comments
Dining service was slow on first night, second night different staff and good. Breakfast service very slow and ran out of bacon, forgot toast etc. Ist night now bread rolls or bread for soup. Strong sewer smell in bathroom which was treated with bleach. Window jammed open which was rectified on second report to reception when different staff we on duty. Problem with running water somewhere in hotel structure and our bedroom wall, which happened from just after midnight to around 4am, so poor sleep but were compensated by hotel manager so matter must have been known about.

Very enjoyable stay. We had an up-graded room which was very comfortable. Our only comment would be that the Travelzoo Menu is the Table d`Hote Menu and seems to be the same every night. Though the hotel dealt well with our dietary issues (one coeliac, one dairy free) it did mean our choice was a bit restricted.

Hotel should maybe make more of the facilities on offer eg the croquet lawn!

Only wouldn't go back because the hotel it is too 'doggy'. Great for people with dogs but we don't. Though the restriction against dogs in the main dining room was good.

I think this hotel is heading in the right direction but still a way to go. Plus points. Excellent friendy well dressed staff. We got shown to our room and shown the facilities with professionalism. Dining areas immaculate. Tastesfull decoration in all the areas we went. Bedrooms nice size and very clean.
The only things I can put the hotel down for is no AC and winter bedding in summer. Never encountered a duvet so thick,We hardly slept due to the heat in room. No alternative cover in room.
The food was ok but I was expecting better. My starter was so over salted I couldn't eat it.

Lovely sitting area out back to watch the setting sun with a drink before Dinner.
Shower head not operating properly and heavy Winter Duvet on bed not changed when requested after first night. Friendly staff. Good Value.

We enjoyed a very relaxed overnight stay and were able to bring our dog with us. Our room was big and comfortable. The furnishings were dated but this did not detract from the ambiance. The bathroom was also clean and large and would benefit from an upgrade in the future but this would not put me off rebooking. The food was excellent and I can thoroughly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is beautiful, our room was excellent. The only down side was the lack of staff in the dining room and kitchen.
On our first night we waited over an hour for our meal and when it was delivered, my husbands steak was undercooked and my Hake was overcooked and very dry.
Very limited choice of fruit at breakfast, on the second day, only a small amount of grapefruit and a few prunes.
I heard a guest complain that due to medication, she couldn`t eat grapefruit and didn`t like prunes (not everyone`s choice) I had porridge which i had to leave as the consistancy was awful.
Having said that our evening meal on the second night was excellent.

The gardens at the hotel are lovely and if you are lucky with the weather, it is a lovely place to sit and have a drink, with lots of seats provided.

I visited this hotel 8 years ago and was interested to see if it had changed with new ownership. The location and grounds are lovely and rural. Ideal for visiting surrounding Cotswold villages. I had booked a superior room at additional cost which was paid directly to the hotel. The ground floor reception, sitting rooms and dining room have all been redecorated and refurbished to a high standard. I was told that there is a programme of redecoration and refitting of bedrooms. The room we had in the old wing has not yet been done. It was a huge room with 6 large sash windows and a large bathroom. A very big comfortable bed which for us unfortunately still had a winter weight duvet in a heatwave. Sadly what once had been good quality curtains were showing their age, some of them beginning to shred due to long term sun damage. The bathroom has a step in corner bath with overhead waterfall shower. I'm sure once this room has been updated as part of the programme it will be sumptuous again. Maybe we shouldn't have been asked to pay a supplement for non-updated room. A fairly limited menu in the restaurant but nicely cooked and served.

I would love to return to Corse Lawn but would ask for a ground floor room with walk in shower. One of the best things about this hotel is the staff. All of them lovely and helpful, and that hasn't changed.
