The Grade II-listed property was originally built as two semi-detached houses. It is rumoured that Anne Boleyn once stayed here in 1535.
The traditional pub serves British classics, real ales, and craft beers. There is also a beer garden with outdoor seating.
Robinswood Hill, a hilltop country park, is 10 minutes' drive from the inn. There are several waymarked trails to explore, and a cafe.
Gloucester Cathedral is 15 minutes' drive away. Dating back 1300 years, the Romanesque church was a shooting location for three of the "Harry Potter" films.

Delightful staff all of whom were unfailingly polite, friendly and helpful. A beautiful C17th Inn but surprisingly situated in a modern built town and not the country village I had assumed from the photographs. Well situated for exploring the Cotswolds. The food was excellent and the service impeccable. We enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

The room was very quiet, not spacious, but well fitted out. and had everything we needed. We were struck by how fresh all the decoration throughout the inn looked. Very smart. The bar area was welcoming and the staff all very attentive and friendly. We had the best pub meal we've had in a long time! Really well-managed place.

Room rather small -kept banging legs on bed.
Ensuite shower difficult to get in and out of (we’re both slim), and shower head kept falling out of socket.

A wonderful experience overall. A 2 night stay was perfect to allow us to visit Gloucester Cathedral and Tewkesbury Abbey. Comfortable room, delicious food and best of all, the staff who were very friendly and efficient. Would go back anytime.

Good value as an overall stay . However the TV in the room didn't work and the room itself was quite small but this is an inn not a chain hotel. Food was a little overpriced and not all meals well presented. The £25 food inclusion didn't go far. Staff shortages meant service for the afternoon tea was slow. The automated check in, reminders and billing caused more confusion than necessary and the lack of a recognised receptionist was a false economy. We felt sorry for the bar staff who were rushed off their feet dealing with bar, food and hotel guests.

The offer was exceptional value but we would return at more normal rates. Food and service in the bar were good. Room was modern, warm, well appointed - but small (given that it was a Standard Double & not a Small Double. Ok for a couple overnight but too cramped for a longer stay.

We didn't make it to our booking due to travel/traffic issues. After spending almost 5 hours in the car for what should have been a 2 and a half hour journey my wife was feeling particularly unwell. So we were set to miss a large part of our first day in Gloucester we called to say that we would not be coming which was acknowledged. Unfortunately the message did not get passed on to reception who sent a series of emails regarding out of hours check in and presenting the voucher at breakfast. I sent an email reply with the attached voucher explaining that we had called to cancel at 14:15 on the day of arrival but no response from The Thatch Inn. So poor internal and customer communication at the accommodation.

In the middle of a commercial/industrial area. Rooms small, immaculately clean but Spartan more like a motel. Staff excellent food good. Building really a large restaurant with overnight stops rather than a hotel. Excellent value for money with Travelzoo voucher.

We had room 15 and we had a constant humming noise which eventually stopped at about 2.30am. It restarted again waking us up at 6.30am ish!! Loved our stay and would do again but not in Room 15. Sorry

The staff were great and the food was wonderful. What a superb deal!! The room had been refurbished BUT only one bedside table space so difficult to get out of bed my side and no side light for reading. Only one night so didn’t matter. Had everything else we required.

The Thatch Inn is located in an industrial town. Used to be a village years ago so hence nice pub. Loads of large stores and factory type buildings. No where else to walk too. On a busy road.

Very small room it should be a single room not a double room, difficult getting to into bed , hurt my foot on bed leg when getting in and out of bed.
